"Remember that look in his eye." Lydia said and I looked up at the sky.

"Still see it. How cold it is. Was." Lydia told Henry and I nodded my head. I looked at Daryl from the other side of the window.

"You remember?" I mouthed towards him and he nodded his head.

"Why am I even telling you this?" Lydia asks out loud.

"Beats the quiet. Beats being alone." Henry told her and I leaned my head against the wall.

"Never been alone. My people traveled in groups with the dead. I miss the sounds...the smell..." Lydia said and that doesn't sound like something I would miss from walkers.

"Not gonna lie--walking around in dead people's skins is pretty messed up." Henry told her and it was 100% true.

"Thinking this place isn't gonna fall like every other place...that's messed up." Lydia told him and it was funny how she assumed that all five communities were just going to go belly up.

"Agree to disagree." Henry said.

"Your dad's an asshole like mine." Lydia told Henry and I glanced at Daryl.

"All you did was sneak out. Is it even that hard? Are there a lot of guards posted here?" Lydia asked. I was wondering how much information Henry would really give her.

"Daryl's not my dad. He doesn't even want to be here. He's only doing it as a favor for my mom." Henry told her and I heard Lydia getting up.

"I thought you said your mom died." Lydia said and I took a deep breath.

"My second mom, I mean. She's tough. Not somebody you want to mess with." Henry told her and Lydia was silent for a second.

"Then why did Jess make it sound like she wasn't?" Lydia asked.

"My mom would die sacrificing herself for the people she loves, Jess was right about that. But I want my mom to die peacefully in her bed many years from now." Henry told her.

"Are you mad at her for using your mom in that kind of way?" Lydia asked.

"No, Jess is one of my best friends. She's known my mom longer than I have, too. Jess has gone through a lot more than I have.
And she said that because she's grieving and Jesus was really close to her.
I met Jess during one of the worst points of her life and she was still amazing and fun to be around...But, Lydia, she's also not somebody you want to mess with. I really mean that, with some of the stories I've heard, things I've seen..." Henry told her and Lydia got quiet.

"Hey, what happened to your dad?" Henry asked.

"My dad was a stupid man. My mom, though, she kept me alive. Kept me safe. She's a lot like your mom." Lydia told him and got quiet.

"You don't mess with her, either." Lydia warned.

I walked through the woods next to Tara and we stopped when we saw Connie looking through the binoculars.

"What? What do you got?" Tara asked and we looked around. Connie handed the binoculars to Yumiko and pointed out in the distance.

I looked to where she was pointing and I could see the faint sight of a lot of walkers eating something.

"Maybe the dead, maybe not." Yumiko said and I nodded my head.

"Keep your distance and watch their hands. They could go for knives." Yumiko said and we went back to walking.

Yumiko shot the bow and took one of them out. The last thing I needed was for this to be Luke and Alden.

More of the walkers turned and Magna threw a butterfly knife and took it out. I grabbed out two of my knives and took two of them out while the others got the rest.
