Something They Need

I had my arms wrapped around Daryl's torso for the first time in a long time as we followed the RV on the bike.

I was still scared and mad. Mad that Rosita didn't just tell me. But I was also scared having Daryl out in the open with all of us.

I remembered what Simon said would happen if he found Daryl with us.

"They--They have guns. A lot of them. I saw it." Tara told us.

"What?" One of us asked.

Jesus and I handed Daryl the box while they stood in the water. I made sure Daryl had it and he started walking.

"That group. Um, the women I met. They had an armory. They have guns." Tara told us and I sighed.

"Why didn't you tell us before now?" Rick asked.

"I made a promise, Rick." Tara told him.

"But they know Negan, because that's why they're hiding from him." I reminded Rick.

"Are you ready if this goes south?" Rick asked.

"It won't." Tara told him.

"If it does, you don't need to feel bad." Rick told her.

"I do feel bad. I will." Tara exclaimed.

"Tara...you don't have to." Rick told her.

I helped Jesus and Daryl with the explosives and for some reason I was in charge of that group. I looked at Jesus.

"I don't want to bring it up now, but are you the one that gave them a map of the outside?" I asked in a whisper.

"Yeah." He told me.

"I should have gone with them." I whispered to myself.

"No, you shouldn't have. This is where we need you." Daryl told me and I grabbed the dynamite from him.

"I made promises to people, people that are dead. Letting Sasha go in that's kinda what the promise was supposed to keep me from letting her do that." I whispered while laying it down. Daryl grabbed my arm and I looked up at him.

"The promise also says your not supposed to lose me, think of it as holding up that part of it." Daryl said and I nodded my head. I wanted to say more but I just went back to the dynamite in my hands.

Jesus stood up with the box and started walking behind Daryl's back.

"I should've tried harder to stop Rosita and Sasha." Jesus said and stopped next to Daryl with the box.

"If they'd have just waited one more day..." Jesus said.

"Try to not think about it to much." I told him.

"Well, Sasha's a good shot, and Rosita knows how to take care of herself. Probably back at Hilltop right now.
Least I hope so. We're gonna need em. There's a whole lot of people still got to die." Daryl said and kept bringing the cord along.

"Sasha's one of the best shots I know and Rosita knows how to do a lot. But there's hundreds of people against two girls. Those are the same two girls who think they have nothing left to live for." I said and kept going down with him.

The first explosion went off and I could hear the screaming. Then the next one went off. Then the next. There were gunshots and there were two girls.
