I walked over and handed Carl his sister. Rick had been zoned out for a little bit now and Daryl was trying his best to get his attention.

"Let me see the baby." Hershel said and Carl walked her over to him.

"What are we gonna feed it? We got anything that a baby could eat?" Daryl asked and I hadn't thought about it. Somehow, with us knowing that the baby was coming soon, we didn't prepare for it at all. Maybe we just thought that Lori would be here to breastfeed. But we still didn't have clothes or anything.

"The good news is she looks healthy. But she needs formula. And soon or she won't survive." Hershel told us and I looked around at the group. We were missing people, this wasn't the same group. Most of us were shaken up and I wasn't sure who would be fit for that.

"Nope. No way. Not her. We ain't losing nobody else. I'm going for a run." Daryl told us. Well I guess he was up for it. But that's just how he is.

"I'll back you up." I looked at Maggie. Just by saying the sentence she sounded like she was going to start crying again. Out of everybody she was in the top three shouldn't go list.

"I'll go, too." Glenn added.

"Okay, think where we're going. Beth." He pulled Beth aside and said something to her. Most likely about Carl and how he just lost his mom and how he's gonna need somebody to keep an extra eye on him. Daryl walked over to me and slightly knelt down so he was eye level.

"You stay here, keep an eye on the baby. Keep an eye on the group. But make sure you keep an eye on yourself, it scares me going out there with you here, like this. It looks like I'm the only one who can do it, so stay here and make sure you protect yourself for this group." I nodded my head at Daryl and he looked back at the group.

"Make sure to get the fence. Too many pile up, we got ourselves a problem. Glenn, Maggie, vamanos." I looked over and Rick was picking up the ax. He went to turn around and I went to run after him. But I stopped.

"Rick!" Me and Maggie both called we both stopped at the same time and let him go. Rick disappeared into the cell block, this wasn't going to end anywhere near good. But there really wasn't anything that we could do.

"Get the gate. Come on, we're gonna lose the light." The three of them ran and I stayed by Hershel, Beth, and Carl.

I looked over when I heard the motorcycle starting and Glenn was watching them leave. The store with the debris must have been the only other place that wasn't looted.

Glenn walked back to the group and I ran to the fence that held the outside world from us. I grabbed the crow bar next to my foot and made sure that walkers didn't get to out of hand. That's what Daryl told us to do, whether it was towards me or not.

"How are you holding up?" I looked over and Glenn was the one walking towards me. The question seemed more rhetorical because of the way his face looked.

"Who else?" I asked. When we were back with the group I didn't even look around to see who else didn't make it. Now that I was here it seemed stupid to not look at the other family I lost. Glenn walked over and put his hand on my shoulder and I knew that whatever he was going to tell me was bad.

"Uh, Carol...and T-dog." Glenn said T-dog's name and I fell down to one of my knees. The crowbar dropped out of my hand and I looked at all the walkers on the fence. He kept his hand on my shoulder until I rolled over onto my back. I laid on my back and looked up at the sky. It wasn't long before Glenn got down and laid next to me.

"Was it one of the prisoners--that let the walkers in and set the alarm off?" I asked and I looked over to see Glenn nodding his head.

"Yeah, it was. The shorter one that Rick thought he killed." Glenn told me and I rolled my head back towards the sky and sighed.
