They kept sliding past us but none of them tried to make up part from each other and none of them tried to tear us apart.

I could feel the beads of sweat rolling down my face and I looked around. The streets were still filled with walkers and that wasn't going to change anytime soon.

We were by the pond when Rick stopped.

"All right, new plan. Flares from a few guns aren't enough. Too many walkers, too spread out. We're not going to the armory. We need our vehicles back at the quarry. All of us drive. We'll need to round em up. We leave, we come back." Rick said.

"Okay...But Judith...to the quarry and back, I..." Jessie said and Rick looked back at Carl.

"I'll take her. Keep her safe in my church. Until you all lead the walkers away." Gabriel said.

"Can you do this?" Michonne asked and we all looked at her.

"I'm supposed to. I have to. I will." Gabriel said and I looked at him.

"This is my god-daughter's life I'm putting in your hands, remember that. It doesn't mean I trust you, but it's the only way." I told him and he nodded his head.

Carl and Gabriel made a wall and they traded her over. She was whimpering but nothing to loud. I looked back at Rick.

"Rick, I should go get Maggie. I need to go get Maggie." I told him.

"Jess, I need you to come with me to the cars. Maggie is still safe up there, it would be more dangerous to try and get her down right now. I need you with me." Rick told me and I looked in the direction of the tower.

I nodded my head and looked back at Rick.

"Okay." I said.

"Take Sam." Jessie told Gabriel.

"No." Sam told her.

"Yes, Sam, it'll be safer." Jessie told him.

"I'm not leaving you." Sam told her. We were all just watching them go at it again.

"Sam--" Jessie started.

"Mom, I'm not. I can keep going." Sam told her and I'm not sure that I even believed it.

"Sam--" Jessie started.

"I can keep going. Please. Please. Let's just go." Sam begged her.

"Okay." Jessie said. Gabriel was looking at Rick. I looked at Gabriel and so did Rick.

"I'm going to keep her safe." Gabriel told him.

"Thank you." Rick said and Gabriel nodded his head. Gabriel was the first to walk away and we all watched him.

"Hey. He's gonna make it. Okay? I know it." Jessie told Rick and then Rick looked at Sam.

"Sam." He said and stuck his arm out towards him.

"Jess, I want you to lead." Rick told me and I grabbed his other hand and started walking.

It was dark out and we were still going. Still walking through the walker infested streets. I was still in the lead because that was what Rick wanted, for some reason.

Rick stopped and he turned me around with him. Sam had let go of Rick's hand and completely stopped.

Jessie and Rick were trying to coax him back and I looked forward at the area we still had to get through and the walkers that stood in our path.

They were still trying to coax him back and I looked at them. He was crying and then they grabbed onto his head.

One was on his shoulder and one was at the top of his head. Sam was screaming for his mom and they started to tear him apart.
