100th CHAPTER

I walked out of the house and looked at it. The Capital. Every time I see it, it never gets old. The houses surrounding the mile long wall.

The training grounds, the gardens, the guard towers, the gates, the community house, it's all there. Everything me and Carl were talking about.

Of course, it's still being built but it's gonna get there.

Only some of the houses are finished but the others have foundation. We'll be able to start planting soon. The ones who are gonna live here, they're gonna be here soon.

It's gonna be everything and more. I walked to the gates and Alex was at the top of the guard tower.

"Alexandria?" He asked and I nodded my head. The big doors opened and then the triangle opened. There were no walkers on the spikes and I turned on the main road.

They opened the gates at Alexandria and I got the same greeting I would any time. It made me feel like they would still accept me here as one of them.

I walked up the stairs of the house and stopped at the top when I saw Michonne and Judith at the corner painting.

"It was very drippy before." Judith said and neither of them knew I was there but I could hear the door to the house open.

"Was it drippy? That's okay." Michonne told her.

"It's a--I'm gonna make it into a heart." Judith told her.

"Okay, that's fine. That's fine. Go ahead." Michonne reassured her.

"It's dripping from the heart. It's okay." Judith reassured.

"Cause the heart's so full. Is that why?" Michonne asked and I couldn't quite see what she was painting.

"Ah. Some is dripping on you." Judith told her.

"You want to tell me about the painting?" Michonne asked.

"That's our house. And Aunt Jess. And Aunt Maggie. And the King. And all our friends." Judith said and it broke my heart thinking about the feud.

"Who is that grumpy face?" Rick asked from around the corner and they both looked at him.

"You get a grumpy, little face." Judith told him and I smiled again.

"Your doing a grumpy face?" Rick asked.

"He has a happy face, too." Michonne told her.

"There's going to be his big tummy." Judith said and my jaw dropped. But I held the laugh in. Michonne failed and busted out laughing.

"There's a big tummy." Judith said and Michonne kept laughing.

"That's Daddy's big tummy?" Rick asked and I could hear him walking towards her.

The three of them went for a walk and I stayed to walk around Alexandria. It felt weird and it wasn't the place it used to be.

Not just the new buildings. But all of the people that were gone, not just the dead ones. Eugene, Tara, Rosita, Daryl, Carol, Maggie, Enid--they were all somewhere that wasn't here.

"Sanctuary to Alexandria Relay One, come in." Eugene waited on the radio. These days to hear my peoples voice I had to listen in over the radio.

"You hear me, AR One?" Eugene asked and he always got pissed when we didn't answer right away.

"Loud and clear, Ponytail. What's up?" Tara asked and that was one voice I could smile at.

"Crops are done-zo at the Sanctuary. Time to go medieval on this problem's ass, as it were." Eugene told her.
