Insert a school setting during 2020 BC (Before Corona)

A certain friend walks over to you and says: Hey, Lizzy! I heard you like KPOP. I have a question! Since Korean people are Asian and they live in japan, how do you understand what they are singing? 'Cuz we all know that all Asian people speak Chinese!

*FACEPALM*

Okay, i took this from Internet Trashcan on Youtube, but it's a good representation of how some people see KPOP as. I am not here to defend anyone nor attack. I am here to discuss cliches.

But Lizzy! i don't like KPOP! and i have never heard a KPOP song before.

Don't lie. We all are guilty of KPOP. You have heard a KPOP song too.

Because, Gangnam style by PSY is also KPOP.

You're welcome.

I can't believe how i ended up reading KPOP fanfics. But ya'll are freaky. And that's coming from a stan.

In this chappie we will discuss cliches in KPOP fics and everyone's obsession with BTS. Please note that i love the boys and it breaks my heart when is see people turn those angels into Fuckboys. Expensive girl was a mistake and stop shaming my bias.

As for other peeps, I am uploading this chapter with 5 other chapters and tbh, most of it will not make much sense to you because of the references and inside fandom jokes etc.... so yeah, you can hippity hoppity to some other chappie.

1. Literally everyone wants BTS. C'MON GUYS, THERE ARE OTHER BANDS TOO. I personally stan Day6, SuperM, EXO, G(i-dle), Super Junior, BlackPink, BigBang, and a lot more. But wait! STOP! Why? Please, read the next point.

2. Literally everyone's personality is butchered and exaggerated. I mean, okay, if you wanna insert them in a mafia setting, but is it really necessary to turn idols into something they are not? Atleast respect their sexualities before forcing them on each other. Some transformations are literally like a bunny transforming into the year 2020. smh.

3. Miss Y/N lives in a dorm with them or is some foreigner who moved next door to them. But since she is the MC, she is not considered as a sasaeng (an obsessive fan) despite her obvious drooling mouth. Also, why is she often related to some other member? Technically, being RM's little sister hooks you up with Jimin.

4. The girl is often some foreigner or someone who lost her memory in a car crash. What is this? A k-drama?

5. She is talented, she is a trainee and she can't take any hate or critique. Even if she gets some, she runs right into the arms of her hot boyfriend Kai (spoiler: she is cheating on him with Baekhyun)

6. Overused puns. At this point Jimin will jump off a cliff if you remind him for the 400000th time that he has lost his jams. If BTS are not present in a fanfic and for example it's a BP fanfic, these overused puns are used to relate BTS into the storyline and to deceive the reader by adding #BTS.

7. Suddenly, everyone has a British accent. Hairy Styles in Quaking.

8. Literally every fanfic has to mention mainstream bands like BTS or else no oxygen.

9. Koreaboo slangs. Do people know that words like Anneyonghaseo is the only non-koreaboo (but informal korean term). Terminologies like Omo, Oppa, Sarang and Unnie are basically korean slangs and you won't see an actual Korean person abundantly using them.

These words are like how we treat the word 'senpai' in Japanese animation aka anime.

To put into a perspective, imagine someone saying 'lovely' every few seconds to express every emotion and thinking that it makes them seem more 'English'.

And that's how it feels like.

Love,

Lizzy
