The Pewter City Gym Battle

                          Mitch and Charmander are standing at the top of a rocky hill looking down at a dull looking city. Every house in the city is entirely covered in the same shade of grey, except for Pokemon Center and Poke Mart. " Ok, According to the map, that's Pewter City. Looks a little too sad for my tastes, but if its what the people that live here like," he says while Charmander nods. As they slowly make their way down the hill and as they are walking, Charmander feels a weird tingling sensation in its arms, but it goes away a few seconds after it starts, so it ignores it as they walk into the Pokemon Center. Mitch walks up to the counter as Nurse Joy says " Welcome to the Pewter City Pokemon Center, what can I do for you today," " My Pokemon and I have been on the road for a few days, could you please take my Pokemon and give them a quick heal," he asks. " Of course, it's my job," she happily replies as Mitch hands her the Poke Balls containing Pidgey, Mankey, and Weedle. He looks down at Charmander and says " ok, Your turn," " Charmander, Char," it replies as it jumps up onto the counter and into Nurse Joy's arms. As Nurse Joy takes it and Mitch's other Pokemon into the back room to be healed, Charmander gets another tingling sensation in its arms. 

              Mitch stands by the counter waiting for Nurse Joy to come back as another trainer comes up to the counter and sets a Poke Ball and a Great Ball on it. " So, I guess Nurse Joy is helping out your Pokemon right now," he politely asks. " Yeah, my Charmander, Pidgey, Mankey, and Weedle are tired from all the traveling we've been doing, so I thought that they deserved to be healed," " Nice, my Beedrill and my Fearow just got done doing some real tough battling at the gym, so I thought I would come here before I left the city," he explains.  " So, there's a gym in this city, could you point me in its direction."

        Mitch and Charmander stand in front of a building that upon first glance would look like a really large boulder. The words " Pewter City Gym" are painted across the middle of it in all capital letters. " Ready to try for our first badge," Mitch asks Charmander. " Char, Char, Char, Charmander," it eagerly shouts. They walk through the door and through a small hallway before reaching an battle field that has rocks surrounding every side of it. " Hello, is anyone here? I want to challenge the Pewter City Gym Leader," Mitch hollers. " Well, say no more," a voice comes from the dark hallway on the other side of the field. A man walks out and into the light " I'm Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader and I accept your challenge. What's your name," he says " I'm Mitch and this will be my first gym battle," " Well, this will be a two on two Pokemon battle, only you can substitute your Pokemon, and you have the first move, so please send out your first Pokemon," Brock says. Mitch takes out a Poke ball and throws it " Go, Weedle," yells. " Weedle, Weedle," it says as it emerges from its ball. " Go, Geodude," Brock yells. " Geodude, Geo, Geodude," it yells as it lands on the battlefield. Mitch grabs his Pokedex and uses it on Geodude.

              " Geodude, the Rock Pokemon, it might be tempting to gather up Geodude found along the road and throw them around like balls, but that's a bad idea- they're very heavy and their surface is extremely hard," " Weedle use String Shot," Mitch orders. " Weeeeeeedle" it shouts as it shoots white silk out of its mouth at Geodude. Geodude's whole body becomes encased in the silk. " Great Job, Weedle," Mitch says " Nice try, Geodude use Rollout," " Geoduuuuuuuude," it yells as it begins to roll across the ground very fast. The silk is destroyed and Weedle is struck by the attack. " Tackle" Brock yells as Geodude jumps and slams its body into the falling Weedle. Weedle is knocked against a rock and Brock yells " Finish it, Use Mega Punch," " Geeeooooodude," it yells as its arm glows white before going back to normal as it. prepares to punch Weedle into the next life. " Counterattack, use String Shot," Mitch yells as Weedle weakly spits silk out of its mouth and successfully glues Geodude's Mega Punch arm to the ground stopping the attack. " Poison Sting," Mitch quickly yells as Weedle fires the attack into Geodude's face. " Geodude, use" " Geooooodudde" it yells out in pain as its body glows a dark shade of purple. '' Weedle, did you poison Geodude," Mitch asks. Weedle weakly turns its head to face Mitch, smiles, and nods its head. " Great job, I think you can take a break for now little buddy," he says as he returns the tired Pokemon to its Poke ball. 

            " Smart move, switching when you see that an injured Pokemon has done all it needs to do," Brock compliments.  Mitch nods a thank you before turning to Charmander " You want a go at it," he asks. " Char, Char," it grins before running into the battlefield. Geodude is still suffering from the poison as Mitch yells to Charmander " attack with Scratch,". Charmander rushes forward and scratches the poisoned Geodude across the face as the tingling sensation in its arms starts to get worse "now, Headbutt," Charmander sends Geodude rolling across the battlefield by striking the Rock type's face with its head. Suddenly, the tingling sensation in its hand becomes unbearable before Charmander realizes what is going on. " Chaaaaaarmaaaaander," it yells as it lunges at Geodude with its right claw outstretched. Charmander's claw turns into Metal as it strikes Geodude in the face with it sending it flying into a rock. " Charmander, did you just learn Metal Claw," Mitch exclaims. Charmander turns to Mitch and eagerly grins as Brock looks over at Geodude and sees that it has been knocked out by the Super Effective move. " Great Job, Geodude return. We're not done here yet, go Onix," Onix roars "Ooooonixxxxxx," as it is released from its ball. 

                  " Onix, the Rock Snake Pokemon, thanks to its internal magnet, Onix never loses its way while boring through the ground. Its body grows smoother with age as the rough edges wear away," the Pokedex explains. " Charmander, take a break. We'll give Weedle another try," Mitch says as Charmander retreats out of the battlefield and Weedle is brought back out. " Weedle, Poison Sting," Mitch orders as Weedle fires off its attack " Weeeeeeedle," " Onix, use Tackle," " Oniiiiix," it yells as it lunges forward. The Poison Sting bounces off of its rocky body as it slams full force into Weedle sending it flying into the wall and quickly knocking it out. Mitch returns Weedle to its ball as Charmander rushes back into the battlefield. " Metal Claw," Mitch orders as Charmander jumps and slashes Onix across the belly with its metallic claw. " Tackle" Onix slams into Charmander, but it manages to quickly get back on its feet. "Use Ember,'' " Chaaaaaarmander," it screams as it fires off little fireballs at Onix. " Counter it with Rock Throw," Brock orders. " Onnnnnnixxxxx," it screams as if summons a bunch of rocks and sends them flying at Charmander. The Ember is destroyed by the rocks and the rocks continue towards a stunned Charmander.  " Use Metal Claw on those rocks," Mitch quickly orders as Charmander jumps and slashes through the rocks with its Steel type move. However, Charmander doesn't stop there as it continues on and slashes Onix across the face with its Metal Claw. Onix falls to the ground and Charmander lands in front of the fallen Pokemon's face. 

            Everyone waits to see if Onix is going to get up, but anyone hope of that is destroyed as spirals appear in its eyes. Brock returns Onix to its ball as Mitch runs up and gives Charmander a hug. " We did it, we did it, we did it, we won," Mitch excitedly shouts. " Yes, yes you did. Congratulations," Brock says as he walks up to Mitch. He takes something out of his pocket and hands it to Mitch " this Boulder Badge is proof that you beat me in a fair fight and if you are wanting you challenge another gym, I recommend going to Cerulean City to challenge its gym," he says. Mitch takes the Boulder Badge and says " thanks for the badge and the great battle. I'll definitely go and check out the Cerulean City Gym next," before letting Weedle out of its Poke Ball so that it can celebrate their victory alongside him and Charmander.
