Mitch's Kanto Journey

The Great Lapras Migration

                     Mitch sits at an outside picnic table at a lakeside Pokemon Center and bites down on an apple as he looks at his map. His Pokemon are all out of their balls and are doing different things. Mankey, Beedrill, and Gastly are playing a game of tag in a cluster of trees, Charizard and Ivysaur nap in the sun, and Horsea swims by the shore in the lake. Based on what the map says, Mitch has taken some wrong turns at some point as he is currently walking further inland instead of towards the coast. He is currently at a place called Lake Lapras, which is famous for having one of the highest populations of freshwater living Lapras in the world and he has no idea how to get back on track. He frustratedly puts his map back in his bag and continues to eat his apple.  

                     Horsea lazily floats across the water before she bumps into something big. " Hor," she questionably says as she turns around to see what she hit. A young Lapras that is tied to a pole on the shore stares down at her. It one were to look closely, they would see that it has a bandage covering its left front flipper. " Lap, Lap, La, Lapras," it happily cries as it bends down to greet her. " Hor, Sea, Horsea, Sea," she replies as they begin to play with each other. After a few minutes of playing, Nurse Joy comes out of the Pokemon Center to check on the injured Lapras. She takes the bandage off of its flipper and sees that it has healed from whatever injury it had. " That's great, Lapras! It looks like you healed just in time for the migration," she happily says before noticing Horsea " Hello, where did you come from?"  Mitch notices Nurse Joy talking to Horsea and walks over to them. " Sorry to bother you, I just let my Pokemon out for some air why I tried to find the path to Cinnabar Island and I guess I should have paid more attention to them," he says. " No problem and I think I just found a way to solve a problem that you have and a problem I have," Nurse Joy happily says. " What do you mean," a confused Mitch asks. " Well,  the Lapras that live in this lake go on a annual migration to the ocean this time of year in order to spend a couple months out on the open sea and this Lapras here was injured during a small storm a little while ago, its injury is healed up now, but I was going to accompany them to the ocean to see if this young one is healthy enough to make the journey, but i'm a little busy with sick and injured Pokemon right now. However, if you take them down Lapras River to the ocean, you will end up at an splitting path, one path leads to the ocean that the Lapras migrate to and the other leads back to land and a path that will get you back on the way to Cinnabar Island," she explains. " Couldn't I just go to the ocean with the Lapras and go to Cinnabar from there?" " You can't because the path to Cinnabar Island from there is extremely windy and is full of very sharp rocks, whirlpools, and very powerful currents, so it is much easier to go the other way." Mitch takes a few seconds to think before saying " Ok, that's what I'll do," " That's great news, the Lapras will be leaving in a few hours, so I would go get ready if I were you," Nurse Joy says with a smile. Mitch goes to get ready and while he is waiting for the Lapras group to leave, scans the young one on his Pokedex. " Lapras, the Transport Pokemon, These Pokemon were once near extinction due to poaching. Following protective regulations, there is now an overabundance of them." 

................................................................................................................................................................              Many hours later, the Lapras make their way down the Lapras River with the young one, with Mitch riding it, Horsea swimming beside it, and Charizard flying over them, bringing up the rear. A small group of Sandslash that are resting on a nearby bank sense something and retreat into the nearby forest as large bubbles begin to form a few feet in front of the young Lapras. Mitch has time to grab his Pokedex from his pocket as something big and fast lunges up out of the water in front of them. " Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokemon, the Evolved Form of Magikarp, once Gyarados goes on a rampage, its ferociously violent blood doesn't calm until it has burned everything down. There are records of this Pokemon's rampages lasting a whole month." " Gyaraaaaaaadoooooooos," it angrily screams at them, but before it has time to attack, two big balls of purple energy are fired in its face. Charizard and Horsea's double Dragon Pulse attacks hitting it in the face cause Gyarados enough pain for it to retreat back under the water as the group continues their journey down the river as Lapras awes at the strength of Charizard and Horsea. However, nobody seems to notice the huge storm clouds quickly rolling in behind them. 

................................................................................................................................................................               A couple hours later, the group is about about to reach the splitting path, but before they can get there the storm clouds finally reach them. Mitch is forced to return Charizard to its Poke Ball to protect the flying Pokemon from the high winds, heavy rain, and lightning as a big bolt of lightning strikes the shore near them. " Hoooorsea," " Laaaaapraaas," they shout as they are hit by some of the debris. They then hear something above them, " Doooooooooosssss!" The three of the look up to see that a Zapdos is causing the storm as Mitch screams " That's a Legendary Pokemon," while reaching for his Pokedex. " Zapdos, the Electric Pokemon, this Legendary Bird Pokemon causes savage thunderstorms by flapping its glittering wings." " Laaaaaapraaaas," the young Lapras cries out in fear as Mitch shouts to Horsea," We gotta find a way to stop this storm." " Hoooooorseeeeeea," she shouts as she fires a Dragon Pulse at Zapdos. Zapdos notices the Dragon Pulse and flies out of the way. " Zaaaaaaaaapdooooooossss," it shouts as a big bolt of lightning come out of the sky and slams into its body as it absorbs it and then fires an even bigger lightning bolt out of its body. " Hooooooooooooorseeeeeeeaaaaaaaa," she shouts as the Thunder attack hits her and causes her to fall over on her side. Mitch is about to return her when her body begins to glow a blinding white and after a few seconds, the light fades to reveal an angry looking Seadra in the place of Horsea. " Seadra, the Dragon Pokemon, the Evolved Form of Horsea, Seadra generates whirlpools by spinning its body. The whirlpools are strong enough to swallow even fishing boats. This Pokémon weakens prey with these currents, then swallows it whole."  " Seeeeeeadraaaaaa," it shouts as it fires a big beam of bright red energy out of its mouth at Zapdos. Seadra's newly learned Hyper Beam attack hits Zapdos in the middle of its right wing, almost causing it to fall out of the sky as it screams " Zaaaaaaaaap," in pain. Zapdos stops the storm and weakly flies off allowing the weather to return to normal. 

                     The group has made it to the split path and the Lapras group continues to the ocean as the young Lapras drops Mitch and Seadra off at the path they need to be on. " You know Lapras, I really liked traveling with you and I wish we could continue traveling, but we have to continue our journey and you have to get to the ocean, so I guess this is goodbye," Mitch says as he pates the Water/ Ice Type on the head. Seadra and Lapras rub their heads together as a sign of friendship before Lapras swims off to join the rest of the group. Mitch looks down at his newly Evolved Pokemon and says " Ready to get back on the road to Cinnabar Island."  " Dra, Sea, Seadra," it happily replies as Mitch returns it to its ball. However, Lapras was listening to their conversation and eagerly grins as it swims into the section of the river that leads to the ocean.
