I didn't wake up in my dorm the next morning and was confused for a moment before remembering last night's events. I jolted up; an attempt to sit upright on the cold stone floor. But instead, I hit something, or rather someone, on my way up.
"Merlin," Malfoy mumbled, rubbing his chin in an attempt to calm the pain my head caused.
"Oh god, I'm sorry," I said quickly before getting up completely and distancing myself from the blonde.
"That's what I get for allowing you to sleep on my legs? Remind me to never do that again," He growled annoyed, his voice raspy.
There was no time for me to respond, chattering and laughter filling up the staircase leading up to the astronomy tower making me freeze on the spot.
"Please don't tell me there's a class in here right now," I hissed, my head snapping in Malfoy's direction.
"Seems to be the case," He sighed with a hint of panic in his voice, noticing the voices growing closer as well. He thought for a moment before walking closer to the edge of the tower and pulling out his wand from his pocket.
I couldn't hear the spell he mumbled, and I could imagine the group of students walking through the door any minute now. My heart began to beat faster, knowing we weren't supposed to be up here without a professor in the first place.
This was worth 50 house-points, at least. For either of us. And detention for the rest of the year. I was sure of it. My eyes were still locked on the door, but without even realising it, I was taking a step back the closer the voices came.
"Would you at least turn around!" Malfoy snapped just as I reached the railing surrounding the tower. Once I did, he started climbing over it, and I watched him with wide eyes.
He gave me a prompting look, expecting me to do the same. "Are you insane?" I asked, frantically shaking my head at his request. He just rolled his eyes, now standing on the opposite side of the barrier.
"God damn it, Potter! Just do as you're told for once," He hissed, and I let out a loud groan as I felt the cold wind against my skin.
No way was I doing this, I thought as soon as my first leg was, not so gracefully, swung over the railing.
My hands were now clinging to the outer part of it, and I gulped at the distance between myself and the ground.
"We have to jump," Malfoy said quickly, hearing the students at the door. It was a matter of seconds before they would open it.
"Look, I know you said you'd rather die than-" But before I could finish my sentence, he had already pulled me down into the depths in front of us.
I couldn't help but let out a scream at the sensation in my stomach. And at the fact Draco Malfoy literally just killed me.
Before it came to that, though, my hand was grabbed by him sitting on his broomstick with a wide grin on his face. "You scream louder than those damn Mandrake's," He laughed while pulling me onto it as well.
The same way I was clinging onto the barrier just moments ago, I was clinging onto the blonde in front of me now. My arms were tightly wrapped around his torso, and my head buried in his neck.
"You could've just said you had a plan instead of making me think you're gonna commit double murder!" I yelled just before we landed and he snickered at my comment.
"That wouldn't nearly have been as much fun," He shrugged as we got off the broom and I sighed.
"I hate you," was all I muttered before walking towards the entrance of the castle. I was still wearing parts of my uniform, making it a lot easier to get to the dungeons without drawing too much attention to myself.
"You're gonna walk through the castle looking like that?" Malfoy asked, amusement filling his voice as he eyed me up and down once. "You look like you've had quite the rough night."
"Well, there's not much I can do, is there? Not that you look much better." I kept walking, knowing that I was already at least ten minutes late, and Malfoy followed me gradually.
"I'll simply skip charms," He announced proudly. "A waste of time, anyway."
I rolled my eyes, definitely not planning on skipping anything. "You can join me?" He asked casually, an eyebrow raised as we came to a halt in front of one of the side entrances.
"And do what, exactly?" I fired back, a challenging smile on my lips when I turned around to face him.
He mirrored my smile, giving me a suggesting look. "I'm sure we can think of something."
A laugh escaped my lips, and I shook my head. "I'll better get going," I announced before opening the door and disappearing into the warm corridor.
It was already at least 15 minutes into the first class, so the halls were pretty empty at this hour. I rushed towards the dungeon, hoping not to find anyone in there, either.
A relieved sigh escaped my lips as I entered my empty dormitory, and I quickly began to freshen up. Memories of mine and Wren's fight occupied my mind more frequently the longer I stayed in here, but I simply shook them off.
I had no time to whine to myself about what a horrible friend I had been. And continued to be.
Now that I realised I did something wrong in not telling her about Malfoy, I would just continue doing the same thing moving forward? That didn't make any sense.
I frantically shook my head, snapping out of my thoughts and put on my tie before running out of the dungeons to charms class.
