A/N : Inspired by a video Riker posted on his patreon where he couldn't get the heat working at his cabin in Colorado.
76 - No heat
Your boyfriend Riker wanted to take you on a weekend vacation at his family's cabin in Colorado. It would be nice because you two could just spend some time alone with no distractions.
When you got to the cabin, it was late at night since it was a long drive from California. You and Riker are really tired.
"Ok, so I need to go turn on the heat. You can get ready for bed if you want. I'm so tired," Riker says.
"Ok. I'll meet you upstairs," you say, grabbing your suitcase.
You go upstairs to the loft and change into your pjs. Riker joins you a couple minutes later, and then you both get in one of the beds up there and curl up beside each other. It's super cold in the cabin since it's the middle of the winter. Colorado winters are freezing. You can literally feel Riker shivering beside you.
"It's so cold," you say, pulling the blankets up higher.
"I know. But it should get warmer soon," Riker says, wrapping his arms around you.
You try to fall asleep, but you're literally just so cold that you can't. And you know Riker's not asleep either because he's still shivering beside you.
"Riker, are you sure the heat is on?" You ask.
"I turned it on. Maybe I should go check."
He gets out of bed and goes downstairs. A few minutes later he returns.
"It's not on. But I don't know why. Let me try texting my dad," he says, getting back into bed.
"You should make a fire. It's too cold to sleep," you say.
"Ok. I don't know if my dad is going to text me back anyway. He might be asleep."
You and Riker grab the blankets off the bed and go downstairs. Riker makes a fire in the stove and you two cuddle on the couch near the fire.
You both finally start to warm up from the heat of the fire. You lay your head against Riker's chest and fall asleep to the sound of the fire crackling.
