Chapter 83

Mitch threw the door open and tossed Mark onto the floor.

"Fuck that cat." Mitch grumbled grabbing Scott's hand and pulling him upstairs, wanting to get away from everyone. What he didn't notice was the orange tabby cat following them up the stairs.

Kirstie chuckled and turned to her boyfriend. "You did good out there."

Avi shook his head as he replayed the moment when the witch slit her own throat.

"Yes, Avi, you did. You can't save everyone. You saved Scott, right? And Neryssa. I'd say that counts for something." She gave him a soft smile and slipped her hands over his shoulders and clasped them behind his neck.

"I love you." Kirstie smiled.

Avi returned her smile and nuzzled his nose into her neck and just held her.

Kevin was still looking for Leigh. In the midst of everything, he'd lost track of her. He was currently upstairs checking every room that wasn't Scott and Mitch's.

He finally opened Leigh's bedroom door after receiving nothing when he knocked. "Leigh?"

He barely had time to form another thought before he was pinned to the wall by a smaller frame.

"Prove it!" She demanded, eyes bright with defensiveness.

"Prove what?!" Kevin shrieked.

"That you're really you." She braced her forearm against his throat. Not enough to hurt him, but enough to get some attention. 

"Who else would I be?!"

"Just prove it!"

"Dragon flies have six legs but they can't walk?" 

Leigh smiled. "Thank you."

Kevin raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"I just wanted to hear you scream out a useless fact that in no means effects my life. Also, you're reflexes are almost as bad as Curly's."

"So you pin me to a wall?"

Leigh smirked. "Did it not turn you on?" She bit her lip and walked out of the room.

"Aw, well that's just rude." Kevin rolled his eyes and looked down. "Go away." He told the tent in his pants.

He huffed again and walked out, only to see a half naked Mitch opening his bedroom door with bright orange eyes, a flame in his right hand, and the orange tabby cat in his left.

He walked like he was on a mission. Kevin watched as Mitch stormed to the top of the stairs and threw the cat down them. "If this fucker comes into my goddamn room and around MY boyfriend, ONE MORE FUCKING TIME, I'm making myself some Chinese food!" He yelled before storming off back into his room and shutting the door.

Downstairs, all Kirstie and Avi heard were thumping footsteps before Mark came flying down the stairs with a loud and terrified yelp, while Mitch was yelling.

The cat landed on his feet, but they gave out so he wound up lying flat on his stomach just as the door upstairs slammed, rattling the house.

"He really doesnt like that cat." Avi chuckled.

"Do you think Mitch realizes a cat can't steal his man?" Kirstie asked him.

Avi shook his head. "I have no clue. Honestly, it's kinda entertaining."

"You say that now."

Avi stuck his tongue out and smiled, placing his hands on Kirsties hips and kissing her.

"I'm gonna drop kick that cat, Scott." Mitch said after slamming the door.

Scott leaned back and chuckled. "Why?"

"Because. Now that hes all soft and furry, and thinks hes fucking cute, he can get away with being in your lap all the fucking time."

"I can not, let him on my lap, if that'll make you feel better."

"What will make me feel better is if the fucker stayed away from you in general."

"Hes a cat, Babe. Besides, it's not like he'd get anywhere with me anyway. You are all that I want."

Mitch searched his eyes for any sort of hint that Scott was lying. He found none, and he didn't know what to think. "You could do a lot better."

Scott raised an eyebrow. "Is that what you believe?"

Mitch's jealous demeanor shifted to what seemed to be an insecure one. "I believe that one day you'll wake up and realize I'm not all that great and you'll leave me like everyone else has." He looked at the ground and picked his shirt back up off of it and put it on.

"Why would I leave you?"

Mitch snorted. "You're not serious with that question, are you?"

"No, Mitch, I'm dead serious. What makes you think I'd leave? Theres been something going on between us and I dont like it. You're distancing yourself from me or...something."

Mitch sighed. "I dont mean to be." He said softly.

"Then talk to me. Let's work it out." Scott encouraged. "We cant fix it if we don't acknowledge it."

Mitch sat down next to his boyfriend and put a hand to Scott's stomach. "I'm scared. Terrified, really. I have no clue what I'm doing. I don't know the first thing about what a parent is supposed to be like."

Scott chuckled and grabbed the boys hand. "That's okay. We'll help each other figure it out along the way. Theres no right way to do it. I mean, theres definitely a wrong way, but we won't be like that. You won't be like that." He pulled Mitch close and kissed his shoulder.

"How do you know?" The brunette sniffled.

"Because I know you. And you, are gonna be an amazing parent."

Mitch chuckled at the statement.

"Alright, Chucklefuck. Why don't you believe me?" Scott raised an eyebrow.

"You want the obvious answer?" Scott nodded. "I've literally almost killed you. Twice."

"You've also saved me. Twice."

Mitch huffed and looked at Scott's stomach. "I want to be good to her."

"Mitch, you already are. Just the way you talk about her says everything. You've got this."

The brunette smiled and grabbed Scott's hand. "I love you." He said, looking his love in the eye.

Scott smiled and pulled Mitch close and gave him a deep kiss. "I love you, more than you will ever know, Mitch Grassi."

Mitch smiled at those words and his face went red. He slowly shifted and straddled his boyfriends hips and kissed him again.

"Show me?"
