"Okay, everyone focus on Mitch. Just picture him in your head and, hopefully, we can get to him." Kevin said.
Everyone nodded and closed they're eyes and focused on Mitch.
Scott did his best, but the next time he opened his eyes, he was still in the throne room, and Kirstie and Kevin were gone.
He kept trying, but it wasn't working.
"Fuck." He grumbled.
~~~~~~
"Woah!" Kirstie said as she fell over.
Kevin managed to land on his feet, but he stumbled a little bit. He went over and helped Kirstie to her feet.
"Okay, so where are we?" She asked.
Kevin looked around. "I have no clue. But clearly, Mitch is around, otherwise we wouldn't be here." He continued to look around, but he couldn't see Scott anywhere.
"Hey...where's Scott?"
~~~~~~
"Lord Almighty." Scott groaned. He'd been trying for what felt like eons to get this teleportation thing to work, but it just wasn't. "What am I doing wrong?"
He looked down at himself.
Suddenly, he felt a calming presence. He looked up and saw his mother.
"I don't understand." He said.
"Just believe in yourself, darling. If you doubt yourself, it will never work." She smiled sweetly.
"But how? How do I do this? I went from being a normal eighteen year old, to a demigod in less than an hour. How do I now this isn't a dream?"
"Darling, if it were a dream, I think you would know."
"But-"
"Take a deep breath and relax." She waited as he did. "Good. You are the son of a goddess. You are very powerful. Your friends as well. You have so much potential, you just need to unlock it."
"All I can do is make people do what I want."
"And so much more. Your powers will grow as you do. They are also tied to your emotions. Like earlier, when Mitchell got upset with Avriel, his hand erupted in flames. Just keep yourself grounded and in control. Believe in yourself. That is the first step."
Scott just looked at her. "What if you're wrong? What if I'm not as great as you think I am? Or will be?"
"I am a goddess, my love. I have seen many heros rise and fall. Each of them were as great as they were meant to be. I am also never wrong. Not about these things at least. This and love."
"I'd assume so, being the Goddess of Love and everything." He chuckled.
"Just breathe. Breathe and think of Mitchell. Imagine yourself as if he were next to you."
He did, but nothing happened. He sighed and looked at her.
"My dear, you need to believe. In yourself and in your power."
"I'm trying. Its not working."
"Do you actually believe, or are you just telling yourself to believe?"
"The second one." He looked down. Confidence was something he never struggled with. Until now.
"You need to believe with your whole self. Every fiber of you. Every atom. Believe that you can do it, and you will."
"That sounds like its easier said than done."
The goddess looked behind her shoulder. "I must go now, my love."
