Scott laid in his bed wide awake. Sleep wasn't a thing tonight. His stomach didn't help either.

He wanted to eat something, but he just really didn't want to face the others. With a sigh, he looked at Neryssa, who was asleep in her bassinet.

He smiled a little as he sat up. He went to scratch his chest, but found his nipple and the surrounding area were tender. More so than they were when he came up here. He smiled as he leaned over and gave her a tender kiss on her forehead.

"I'll be right back, Sweetness." He whispered, then quietly went to the door and opened it.

He gave a cautious look around at the dark hallway, checking the floor as well. He was taken aback when he saw Mitch's small frame  laying on the floor, sleeping.

Scott froze. Demetri would never sleep on the floor. It's too uncomfortable, after a while.

Scott sighed and stepped over him without giving him a second thought. He'd deal with that later. Right now, he wanted to food.

He made his way down to the kitchen and quietly went around looking for something. He couldn't help but wonder why he was still sore. It had been long enough since they made love that he shouldn't still be having pain.

he sighed, setting the thought aside. he wanted to be as quick as possible, so he searched the cabinets, eventually settling on cereal.

The only reason they even had Fruity Pebbles in the house was because Scott loved them. Leigh had made sure to have at least two boxes at a time, incase the first one ran out.

Scott made his bowl and grabbed a spoon before swiftly making his way back up the stairs to his room. He paused when he saw Mitch still sleeping on the floor, but gritted his teeth as he stepped over the boy and went into his room.

Was Demetri really gone? Or was he just dormant for now, waiting for the right time to strike again? Both possibilities scared Scott. That was the last thing he needed.

He sighed as he ate his food. yeah it was good, but he could hardly taste it. he just wanted to be done with the fear and the fighting. his daughter safe and the love of his life stable but that seemed to be to much to ask, because Neryssa sure didn't seem safe and Mitch was the furthest thing from stable Scott had seen other than himself.

Neryssa made the teeniest noise to signal that she was about to fuss. Quickly her fussing rose to soft cries The sound broke Scott from his thoughts.

"I'm comin', Pretty Girl." he said, putting his bowl on the nightstand next to him and made his way over to his baby to pick her up, cradling her against him.

As she continued to cry, Mitch felt himself pulled from his dream state. At first, he wasn't sure if he was dreaming or not, so he didn't move. It wasn't until Neryssa gave another, more needy, cry that it pulled him out the rest of the way. He jolted up and took in a quick observation as to where he was. He didn't remember falling asleep on the ground. He looked behind him and saw an open door.

His eyes landed on Scott and his heart stopped. He was holding Neryssa and the expression on his face was one that was soft and full of love. Mitch slowly rose to his feet and made his way to the frame, just before he went into the room. He felt a soft smile present itself on his face that he couldn't keep away, even if he wanted too.

Scott's attention was diverted once he saw movement at the door. His eyes flew up and they landed on Mitch, who had tears shining in his own.

Mitch had so many things he wanted to say. The only issue was, what to say and how to start. He wasn't good at these things. He tried, and failed to hold it back. so with a sigh, he let his tears fall.
