"Avi, are you alright?" Kevin asked after everything calmed down. Avi was hit with a fireball and hadn't gotten it looked at yet.
Avi nodded, but didn't say anything. He just looked between the creature on the ground and Mitch, who was looking at Kirstie with fear.
"Mitch, Im so-" she started.
"Don't." He pushed himself to his feet. "I'm so tired of almost dying because of you people." He shot a glare at everyone.
"Mitch, It was an accident." Scott said, coming up behind Kirstie. "She was just trying to help."
"Help?" Mitch laughed angrily. "You call that help? She almost killed me."
Kirstie was in tears. She could feel that Mitch wasn't actually angry with her, just the situation and was still scared because of it. She also knew he had no way of conveying that, nor would he let anyone actually know he was scared.
"I'm sorry." She whimpered, sniffling.
"Mitch, stop it." Scott said. He wrapped an arm around Kirstie and pulled her into his side and held her as she cried. "She didn't mean to."
Mitch rolled his eyes. "Of course. She almost drowns me, and everyone consoles her. But when I save your ass from getting into a brawl with Avi, I'm the bad guy."
"You threw a fire ball at him."
"She sucked me into a whirlpool!"
"It wasn't intentional!" Kirstie yelled. "If you think I would purposefully hurt you and put your life in danger, you're sorely mistaken."
"I'm just tired of almost getting killed because none of you can control your powers." He shot a glare at Avi, them shifted his gaze back to Kirstie.
"Not all of us can be prodigies, Mitchy." She sniffled again.
"I'm not a prodigy."
"Then how come you have almost full control over your fire? Its been a week and half, and none of us are as far along as you."
"Might I also point out, that all of you have more than one ability, whereas all I can do is control fire."
"Whatever. My point is, we need to train. What's the point in having these abilities if we can't even use them properly?"
"Kirstie's right." Kevin said. "We need to learn how to control our powers so no one else gets hurt. Avi, you have speed and strength, and that can be super useful, and scott, Im sorry, but you've been kind of useless so far."
Scott shrugged. "I mean, I stopped Mitch from having a full blown panic attack and I got Kirstie to stop earlier. Not completely useless."
"No, but useless enough. Again, sorry to say. We just have to take the time to actually learn and develope our powers. I'm pretty sure that Mitch has more than Just the ability to harness fire."
"Like what?" Mitch scoffed, crossing his arms.
"Im not answering you until you stop being so standoffish."
Mitch scoffed, shook his head, and walked off. Kevin called Scott useless? If anyone was useless, it was Mitch. Scott could literally make people do whatever he wanted, whereas Mitch could just burn stuff. Kind of useless if you asked him.
Scott watched as he walked off and sighed. "For the love of- Mitch!" He called.
He was ignored. He looked at kevin before he took of at a jog to catch up to the brunette.
"Mitch." He said softly as he caught up.
"Leave me alone."
"Just talk to me."
"Why? You think because we slept together that we have to share our feelings with each other?! I don't think so, bitch."
Scott cringed at how loud this was said.
"What?" He heard from behind him. They really weren't that far away from the rest of the group.
Mitch chuckled angrily. "Fucking fantastic. Yes, Scott and I fucked. Happy now? Ask Kirstie. She can confirm it." He lifted an arm and gave a bitchy smile at everyone. He chuckled and walk slowly towards Avi, who looked beyond pissed off.
"What's the matter?" He smiled. "Mad because I fucked him and not you?"
Avi remained silent.
"Oh, come on." Mitch fake pouted. "Don't be like that. I'm sure you'll get your turn. And...in case your wondering." Mitch looked at his finger nails. "Scott has a great ass."
Avi shot a glare at Scott, who looked like he was gonna be sick.
"Oh, don't get mad at him." Mitch said with a smirk. "I was the one to offer." He pointed to himself. "I made the first move. Hell, I was the one on top."
Avi shifted his glare from Scott to Mitch.
"And you're just pissy, because it...wasn't...you." Mitch poked Avi's chest with a smile. He took a step back and crossed his arms.
He saw Avis arm flinch to punch him, but he rolled his eyes and raised a hand up, creating a wall of fire between them.
"That certainly isn't gaining you points, Avriel."
"Mitch, stop it." Scott said.
"Or what, baby?" Mitch smirked.
"Mitch." Scott said again, this time willing it to wash over Mitch. "You're going to stop what your doing and go to the van and lie down and go to sleep."
Mitch chuckled. "The fuck if I am."
"Go."
Something about that last word made Mitch completely submit to Scott's power.
They all watch as Mitch did exactly what Scott told him to.
Scott looked at Kevin. "Useless, huh?"
Kevin didn't respond.
No one else knew what to say, either, so they all just walked back to the van and got back in their seats, except Kirstie and Kevin switched places.
"What the fuck just happened?" Kirstie asked Scott.
Scott shrugged. His nauseous feeling had returned and it was twice as strong as it was before. "I have no idea. I just know that I don't feel good." He put a hand to his stomach and let out a huff of air.
"Have you eaten?" He shook his head. "That's probably why. Hold on, I think I've got something in my bag."
She reached back at the same time Scott decline her offer.
"I'm fine, Kirst. Really." He said.
She ignored him and searched, eventually finding a small bag of cheetos and something to drink. "Here." She handed the items over. "Its not much, but it'll put something in your system."
Scott excepted them with a sigh. "Thanks."
She smiled and nodded. "You're welcome."
The ride was silent after that, except for the occasional snore that would come from Mitch.
Im literally obsessed with my own story lol. Like, if I wasn't the one writing it, I would so read it.
