They stayed in Kansas for five days. Kevin only hoped it was enough to diffuse the tension between Scott and Avi at least a little bit.

Avi was driving, and Kirstie was in the passenger seat, which Mitch, Kevin and Scott. Since Scott wasn't feeling well, Mitch and Kevin let him have the seat so he could lie down and sleep and they sat on the floor.

Kevin was talking, but Mitch could care less about what was being said. He pulled out his phone and played with his nails with his free hand as he put the "mhmm"'s and the nods in the right places. Kevin liked to ramble.

After about an hour, Mitch completely tuned Kevin out and played on his phone. Yeah, he was probably being rude, but he couldn't bring himself to care.

"Kevin, where are we headed?" Avi asked from the drivers seat.

Kevin stopped talking and pulled out his phone. "How far are we willing to go?"

"I really don't care."

Kevin opened his GPS and looked. "Wichita?"

"How far is that?"

"Little over seven hours."

"Do we wanna stop for the night or keep going after that?"

"Lets just see what happens when we get there."

Avi nodded and continued to watch the road.

~~~~~~
"Okay, I need a break." Mitch said.
Hed gotten super irritated and he couldn't explain why, but unless they wanted him to set the whole van on fire, he needed to get out of the small space.
Avi ignored Mitch's request.
"Avi, I'm serious. Pull over." He said firmly.
Avi rolled his eyes and pulled over, wanting to avoid the argument all together.
Mitch scrambled to get out of the van, slamming the door open, jolting Scott from his sleep. But he really didn't care.
He jumped out and took a deep breath to calm himself.
He turned around and saw everyone else getting out as well.
He watched as Avi came over and tried to help Scott, but Scott just brushed him off.
"Dude." Avi said.
"What?" Scott snapped. He was exhausted and didn't feel good. He really didn't want to do this right now.
"Okay, you don't need to snap at me like that. I didn't do anything."
"Oh, so you didn't sock me in the face for no reason a few days ago? Okay." Scott rolled his eyes.
"Seriously? We're gonna do this now?"
"Only if you want to." Scott sassed and looked to his left for no reason. He just didn't want to look at Avi.
"I don't." Avi said.
"Then why are you even here? All you do is cause a fucking problem and try to start a fight with anyone who's stupid enough to let you."
"Are you kidding me? The only fights I've gotten into with anyone here are with you, because you make some stupid remark and it pisses me off."
"And why is that? Because daddy wasn't there to teach you how to control yourself?"
Avi grabbed scotts collar and yanked him out of the van and to the ground and straddled his waist.
