Here, have a double😊

As Mitch fell to the ground, Avis first instinct was to catch him. He didnt know why.

He was over by Mitch in a blink and caught him before he hit the ground. He picked him up bridal style and turned back to the rest of the group.

"What the fuck?" He asked.

"Put him on the couch." Leigh said. "Who is he?"

"That's Mitch." Kirstie said. "He's one of us...I think." She said. She saw the look on Mitchs face: fear and absolute regret. His face showed exactly what he was feeling. He was angry with himself.

"You think?" Leigh said, trying to practically shove the concoction she made down Scott's throat.

"Its complicated."

"That's an understatment." Avi mumbled.

"Complicated?" Leigh started. "How is it complicated? Is with you or not?"

"Theres a whole thing behind it!" Kirstie snapped. "Until he wakes up, we can't ask him anything! So yeah, for now, its complicated."

No one said anything after that.

Kirstie sniffled and went over and knelt beside Mitch and grabbed his hand.

"Mitchy." She sniffled. "Mitchy, please." She begged. She knew he wasn't okay, but she wanted him to be. "I'm so sorry."

Mitch didn't move. The only thing that showed he was even alive was his chest rising and falling as he breathed.

Kirstie sighed. She put her head down on the cushion and closed her eyes, thinking about everything: Mitch, Scott, their baby, Avi, her baby. All of it.

What was going to happen next?

~~~~~
It had been a couple hours, and no one had said anything. Avi had fallen asleep on the couch opposite Mitch, Leigh and Kevin were off talking, and Kirstie was still knelt next to her friend.
Yes, she still considered him her friend. Granted, he'd done some messed up stuff, but he had his reasons. That didn't make it right, but it made it understandable.
She laid there until she felt his breathing change.
"Mitchy?" She said, looking up and meeting half open brown eyes.
Mitch didn't know where he was. He didn't even remember getting here.
"Wha happened?" He asked. He tried to sit up, but his stomach muscles wouldn't let him. They hurt a lot.
Kirstie sobbed and practically threw herself onto him and hugged him.
"Ow, Kit." He said softly.
"I'm sorry!" She said quickly getting off him.
"Its okay. Help me?" He asked, holding up a hand.
Kirstie wiped her face and nodded, then grabbed his hand and slowly helped him sit up, seeing the grimace of pain as she did.
"Are you okay?" She asked, sitting next to him.
He sighed. "I don't think so." He said. "Matt told me about Scott and I just.....I don't know." He looked down at his lap. His stomach was killing him, it hurt so much. He stifled a groan and put a hand to his stomach as he shifted slightly.
"What's wrong?" Kirstie asked, seeing his face.
"I don't know. My stomach just really hurts for some reason."
Kirstie just nodded. "Have you eaten?"
He shook his head. "I haven't eaten, I haven't slept. Just been running around doing stupid thing for Matt and Xan."
"Xan?"
"Nickname. His real name is Alexander."
Kirsties eyes widened. "Avi's best friend is named Alexander. What does he look like?"
"Uh, he's really tall, and has blond hair. Like Scott, but not."
"Avi's gonna freak." She said, looking over at her boyfriend.
Mitch nodded. He'd seen them hanging out in P.E.. They were always trying to show each other up in the weight room. Avi always won, obviously.
"How are you?" Mitch asked, changing the subject. He was enjoying having a genuine conversation.
Kirstie chuckled. "I've been better." She said, looking down at her stomach. She had a little bump now. She smiled and grabbed Mitchs hand and placed it on her stomach.
"There are things we have to look forward to. You're having a baby, I'm having a baby. Yeah, we're young, but it was obviously supposed to happen. Say, you thought of any names?" She asked him, though she knew what his baby's name was.
Mitch shrugged. "Not really, honestly. So much has happened that I just couldn't."
Kirstie gave a nervous chuckle. "I...may or may not know your daughters name."
He looked at her. "How...?"
"Hades might have let it slip."
"You spoke to my dad?"
"I did. He was the one that told us about Leigh and how she could help Scott. He had to leave real quick though because he wasnt supposed to say her name."
"What is her name?"
"He only said her first name, but its Neryssa."
"Neryssa." He repeated. "Means dark-haired."
"Huh. I didn't know that."
Mitch shrugged. "Is Scott gonna be okay?"
Kirstie looked down. "...we don't know." Was all she said.
Mitch sniffled. "This is my fault." He said, standing and slowly making his way to Scott. He grabbed his hand and kissed it. "I'm so sorry." He whimpered.
Kirstie came up behind him and wrapped an arm around him. "Mitchy, its okay."
"No. I did this." He put his other hand on Scott's stomach. He paused and looked down at where his hand was. "I can feel her."
"What?"
"I can feel her." He repeated. "Like, I can feel her energy. She's strong." He smiled. "I love you, baby girl." He said lovingly, leaning down and kissing the bump. Then he felt a surge of energy and quickly ripped his hand away.
"What?" Kirstie asked.
"I-I-I don't know..." He paused and looked at Scott's belly. "I got like this surge of...power...or whatever."
Kirstie smiled. "She's communicating, is my guess."
"Maybe." Mitch chuckled.
"Let's get some sleep." Kirstie said, patting his back gently.
Mitch nodded. "Yeah, let's do that."
Kirstie smiled and led him back to the couch where he laid down first and opened his arm for her.
"I missed you." She said.
"I know, Kit, and I am so sorry...for everything. I didn't want to do any of what I did to you guys. Matt had some weird mental mind fuckery over me."
Kirstie sniffled and tilted her head to kiss his cheek. "I understand, Mitchy."
The brunette smiled at the nickname. "I missed that."
"What? Me calling you Mitchy?"
He nodded. "I was awful to you guys."
"Honey, please dont beat yourself up. Just...close your eyes and relax. You're safe here."
Mitch exhaled and tightened the grip he had around the girl, and kissed her head. "Goodnight, Kit." He said.
Kirstie smiled and snuggled into his chest.
"Goodnight, Mitchy."
And for the first time in a while, Mitch slept peacefully.
