"What the hell just happened?" Scott snarled.

Kirstie ran off to chase after Mitch, knowing the potential consequences, but she didn't care.

Avi looked at Scott. "What makes you think I know?"

"I saw your arm wrap around him."

"You sound jealous."

"You hate him!"

"Why is this upsetting you so much? Do you like him or something?" Avi crossed his arms.

"Do you?" Scott retorted.

"No, I don't." Avi lied. He didn't know, honestly.

"Then what was that kiss? You pulled him closer to your body."

"I got caught up in the moment!"

"Will you two shut up!" Kevin yelled, getting between the two demigods. "What does it matter? Mitch clearly didn't want to do it, so why does it matter?" He looked between them.

Neither of them spoke. They just glared at each other.

Scott didn't know why he was so upset, he just knew he was. He couldn't shake that feeling he got when Mitch kissed him. It was like he was supposed to kiss Mitch. It felt so natural.

Avi, on the other hand, was reeling. Whether it was good or bad, he didn't know. What he did know, is that he liked it and he wanted to do it again.

Mitch was so confused. He didn't know how he felt. He didn't even know where he was going, he just needed to get away from Avi and Scott.

"Mitch, will you slow down?" Kirstie said, grabbing his arm.

He yanked it away and quickly turned around.

"What?!" He snapped harshly.

"Just... Please, talk to me."

"There's nothing to talk about." He glared.

"Well, there's obviously something!"

"I don't understand, okay? I don't get it! Of all people, why him? Why is he the "one I desire most"? It just doesn't make sense. And what's even worse, is that I liked it."

Kirstie gave a small snort, but stopped when Mitch glared at her. "You like him, obviously."

"Kirstie, we're are talking about someone that bullied me and teased me almost every fucking day. Do I need to point out the bruises he gave me literally three days ago?!"

Kirstie shook her head. He was wearing  a short sleeved black shirt. She could clearly see them around his bicep.

"Sage said to listen to your heart. And those restraints didn't go away until you kissed him. So, obviously, some part of you likes Avi."

"Why couldn't it just be Scott? Scott wasn't a complete asshole to me growing up."

"Well, do you like Scott?"

"I don't know. Yeah."

"Do you like Avi?"

He sighed. "Yeah, I do. Trust me when I say, Its not fun having a crush on your bully." He made direct eye contact with her. "Why me? Why did she choose me?"

Kirstie opened her arms, offering Mitch a hug, which, to her surprise, he accepted.

He didn't cry. He didn't scream. He didn't do anything except hug her. He hadn't had a proper hug in a long time and hed forgotten what it felt like.

"It'll be okay, Mitchy." She said, rubbing her hands up and down his back.

He nodded and pulled away. "Could you...call me that again?"

"Mitchy?"

He nodded and gave a small smile.

She laughed. "Of course I can...Mitchy."

He smiled again, and it made Kirstie smile. She hadn't seen Mitch smile much, and she was sure it was one of the best things she'd seen. So she intended to keep him smiling.

Back at the front of the store, Scott and Avi were still going at it.

Kevin was unable to get them to stop. "Why are you two so upset?!" He shrieked, earning the attention of the two. "Obviously you both like him, or this wouldn't be an issue."

Scott walked off and hopped into the back of the van.

This left kevin alone with Avi. "Do you like him? Is that why you were so cruel to him growing up? Because you were to afraid of your own feelings? Its alright to be gay, Av."

"I know it is, but I'm not gay. I like girls."

"You could be bi. Meaning you like both boys and girls."

"But I don't like boys."

"So you like a specific boy. There's nothing wrong with that."

Avi sighed and rubbed his face. "Lets not talk about it." He said as he saw Kirstie coming back with Mitch.

"Just get in the van. We'll figure it out." Kevin gave him a pat on the back and led him into the van. He helped Kirstie in and got in the driver seat. When Mitch hopped up into the passenger seat, he drove off.

~~~~~~
Four hours and no one has said a word, unless it was kevin trying to make small talk.
It didn't work.
Mitch looked back and saw everyone asleep. He wanted to talk to Kevin, because he was the smart and logical one, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything.
"Just say it, Mitch." Kevin said.
Fuck, Mitch forgot he could read minds.
He sighed. "I just can't figure it out."
"What? The fact you like Avi?"
"Yeah." He dropped his head against the  headrest.
"How long have you felt this way?"
"Since we were all little. I mean, look at him. He's not unattractive."
"No, but he's been awful to you."
"And that is what confuses me."
"Maybe just try to distance yourself the best you can until you figure it out."
Mitch nodded. He didn't want to talk about this. "Yeah." Was all he said.
He was tired. He curled up the best he could in the front seat and used a jacket he found as a blanket and quickly felt himself falling asleep.
