Leigh crossed her arms. "Okay, so you have control and you dont need training. Yet, you're up here, waiting for me to give you instruction."

"Is this a training course or a therapy session, because I really don't need either-"

"Mitch, I'm serious. The blood, plus your powers, are all connected to your emotions. You need, at the very least, to keep your composure in high stress situations. Until the blood dilutes itself, you have to be careful."

"Dilutes itself?"

"After so long of not having injections of it, it will slowly leave your system. But it doesnt entirely leave, and if it does is takes longer than two years."

"So, I'm gonna be homicidal for the next two years, at least? Great."

"Homicidal?"

"I'm not gonna act on it, don't worry. I just wanna kill everybody half the time."

"Oh, that's normal. I've always had a dislike for the general population. Hence why I live in the woods."

"Oh, so I'm not a freak."

"Oh, no we're all freaks, hun."

Mitch nodded. "Well, at least I'm not alone."

"Mitch, with this group of people, you'll never be alone. Plus, you kinda got a kid." She shrugged and stuck her hands in her pocket. "Let's walk."

Mitch nodded and followed.

"I can tell you now, that everyone here would do almost anything for you. They...we all care about you."

"Really?" He asked genuinely.

"Yeah. You guys have been here two days, and already, I can tell all of you are close. Some closer than others."

"Fun fact, Neryssa was conceived because we got drunk."

"Neryssa?"

"My daughter."

"Oh, okay. Drunk, huh? How'd you manage that?"

"I guess Scott had gotten the store clerk to sell to him."

"Ahh."

"Yeah. I was actually the one to...initiate it."

"How...?"

"I was bored." He said dramatically. "In my defense, I didn't know he could get pregnant."

"I don't think he did either." She chuckled.

Mitch laughed and looked at the ground. "Am I gonna be okay?"

"As long as I'm around, I'll make sure of it." She gave him a gentle smile. "What you're going through, what you're feeling...I know exactly how it is. I went through it alone, and I'm not gonna make you do the same."

Mitch looked at her. "Thank you."

She gave a nod. "Now, we need to make it at least look like your training. Throw a few fireballs or something."

"That's it?"

She sighed. "I don't know, Mitch, you're the one with all the freaky abilities and immense control. Dazzle me." She said sarcastically.

Mitch smirked and went invisible.

Leigh chuckled. "I swear to god if you-AHH!!!!" She screamed.

Mitch had gone behind her and poked her in the sides. A sure fire way to get anyone going.

"Mitch, I swear, I'll kill you."

"Can't catch what you can't see." He chirped.

Suddenly, there were leaves flying at her.

"Okay, now your just pissing me off, kid."

"Ehh, its fun." Invisible Mitch said.

"You...you are something else." She chuckled. "How's about you...freeze!" She said, shooting her hand up.

There was a blast of snow and Mitch froze in place, his invisibilty going away.

"Oh, that's just cold." He said, wrapping his arms around himself. "Literally." He laughed.

Leigh smiled. "Now, get out of that before it melts."

Mitch nodded and moved about 10 feet away from the pile of snow. "Bad water." He scolded the pile of snow.

"Its not a dog."

"No, but I still feel like talking to it like it is."

"Wow." She smiled. "You're funny. Like, really funny. Why did no one tell me this?"

"Because, really, no one knows."

"Why...?" She asked slowly, perplexed.

Mitch gave a nervous chuckle. "I am, quite literally, invisible at school. No one really ever talked to me, and most people were just assholes. Curly included."

"Do I need to rough him up a little?" She offered, she'd be perfectly fine with a chance to knock Avi off his soap box he seemed to have perched himself on. Metaphorically, of course.

Mitch smiled, but shook his head. "No." He said as he looked back at the group. "He's gotten better. By a lot. Hes fine for now, so...can I take a raincheck?"

"Always." She smiled. "Now, can I ask you about Kevin?"

He perked up. "What would you like to know?"

"Is he...seeing...anyone?" She asked shyly.

"Kurvy? Oh, no. Never has, from what I know." He shrugged.

Leigh glanced back at the dark-skinned demigod. "Could you...could you put in a good word for me?" She blushed.

Mitch chuckled and nodded. "Of course I can." He gave her a mischievous smile.

Her face dropped when she figured it out. "No."

His smirk grew and he took a breath. "Oh, Kevin." He called.

"No!" She said, the buried her face in her hands. "I hate you."

"You'll thank me later." He assured her as Kevin walked over.

"Yes...?" He asked the two.

Mitch jumped right in. "Leigh likes you." He blurted proudly.

"I hate you so fucking much." Leigh mumbled, shielding her face to hide how red it was.

Mitch shrugged and walked away. "Thanks for training."

Leigh just rolled her eyes.

Mitch laughed and continued walking. He sat down next to Scott, but a few feet away. He could feel Scott's eyes on him, but he didnt acknowledge it. Scott had every right to be hesitant and apprehensive, and Mitch knew it.

What threw him for a loop was when he felt a hand on his.

He knew who's hand that was.

His thought were interrupted by Kevin coming back, yet again.

"Kirst, you're up." He said to her.

"Okiiiii." She said, than snuggled deeper into Avi's side. Her high finally wore off and she was very sleepy.

"Kit, come on, wake up." Avi said quietly.

Kirstie huffed. She really didn't wanna move, but she knew she had to. "I'm getting there." She mumbled as she slowly stood.

She put a hand to her belly and smiled when she stood, took a breath of the chilly air to make her up, and walked off to Leigh.

"Ready?" Leigh asked her.

"As I'll ever be."
