Kevin pulled into the parking lot of the hotel once they arrived in Kansas. He looked over to see mitch still passed out, but he was sprawled as much as possible in the seat.

He chuckled and went to shake his shoulder. "Come on, bud. Lets get you in a bed." He said.

Mitch shifted a little, and made a noise of complaint. He didn't have the energy to move himself.

Kevin decided hed just wake up every one and then carry Mitch. It had been a long day for him after all, and no one really knew what went on his head anyway.

Scott woke up with ease, as well as Avi, but Kirstie was a little harder to wake.

"Im comfyyyyy." She whined. She was curled up in Scotts side. He chuckled and wrapped an arm around her and kissed her head.

"Come on, pretty girl, lets go inside." He chuckled, earning a whine.

She didn't want to, but Kirstie got up anyway and hopped out of the van.

Avi and Scott didn't even look at each other as they got out.

Scott went to check in and Kevin got Mitch out of the passenger seat. He thought the boy was asleep until he grabbed the jacket and saw Mitch was crying.

"You all right?" Kevin asked in a soft tone.

"Ill be fine." Mitch said as he wiped his face and got out of the van and walked off. Not too far, though. He just needed some space. Everything was just weighing on him: his mother, the tension between himself, Scott, and Avi. It was all to much. On top of the fact he hadn't really had a chance to sit down and process how his life changed in the matter of an hour.

Scott finished checking in and handed Kevin the key to the room and decided to walk to the nearest store, because he really needed to relax. Maybe get some chips or something. He also remembered that no one had eaten, so he was going to get something for everyone so they had something in their systems.

Kevin just sighed. The tension was tangible and he was having a hard time thinking clearly.

After Scott walked of, Kevin got everyone into the room. "I think we should take a break for a couple days and just relax." He looked at everyone. Kirstie and Avi were close, but Mitch was sitting in the corner with his earbuds in.

Kirstie nodded. "I agree. I've been feeling super overwhelmed, and so has everyone else."

Avi just nodded and threw himself on a bed and pulled out his phone, and Kirstie went and took a shower.

Everyone did their own thing until scott came back. "I don't know what y'all like, so, I just got Doritos and Pepsi." He said, tossing the bag onto the empty bed. Now that he thought about it, he probably should've gotten something with more sustenance to it, but oh well. Too late now.

Kevin nodded and gave him a pat on the back. "Thank you, Scott."

Scott gave a small smile and went back outside. What he hadn't told them is that he'd bought some alcohol. Hed managed to use his charmspeak to get the clerk to sell to him, since he was underage. Plus, he was super tall, so that helped.

He sighed as he leaned against the wall and slid down it. He picked up the bottle and looked at what he'd grabbed, which he hadn't done earlier.

Vodka. Great.

He unscrewed the cap and took a long swing, ignoring the slight burn in his throat. He choked once he heard the door open. He looked up and saw Mitch.

"What are you doing?" He asked after he shut the door.

"Nothing important."

"I see." Mitch nodded. He sat down across from Scott and grabbed the bottle from between his legs. He looked at it and shrugged before bringing the bottle to his own lips.
