Kevin turned around in his seat to see Mitch, Scott, and Avi all asleep against one another.

"Finally they don't wanna kill each other for a change." He said to Kirstie.

When she didn't respond, he looked at her and she had a less than happy face. "You alright?"

She nodded, but didn't say anything.

"Uh, okay, well, we're almost there. Another half hour and we can find a hotel and stop for the night."

She nodded again, but this time, Kevin heard a sniffle.

"Talk to me." He said, putting down what was in his hand and turning towards the girl.

"I'm fine, honestly." She gave him what she hoped was a convincing smile.

Kevin saw right through it. "No, you're not."

After a few minutes, she sighed. "I just keep replaying what happened earlier. When I went with Mitch. I don't blame him, honestly. I don't. I've just never had someone hold a knife that close to me with the intent to use it on me."

Kevin nodded understandingly. "All you can do now, is do your best to make sure it doesn't happen again. All of us would protect you. Will protect you. You're one of us." He gave her a smile, which she returned.

"I know, and that why I'm not to worried about it happening again. I guess I'm still in shock I guess." She shrugged. "Is that the exit?" She asked, pointing up the road.

Kevin pulled out his phone and checked and nodded. "Yeah, then you're gonna take a...left. There should be a Motel 6 right there on the right once you do."

She nodded and made the turns.

Once they got into the parking lot, kevin hopped out and opened the back door and woke up the three in the back.

"Guys." He said softly, gently shaking Scott's knee.

Scott inhaled sharply and looked around groggily. "What's up?" He said, rubbing his eyes and sitting up, being careful of the sleeping Mitch on his lap.

"We're stopping for the night."

"No." Mitch whimpered, though he sounded more scared than anything. They saw his head jerking. "No, stop!" He whined.

Scott was the first one to move. "Mitch, its okay." He tried, cradling Mitch's head. He watched as Mitch's hand lit up and threatened to burst into flames. He felt Mitch's body jerk as if he was trying to get away from something, and the next thing Scott knew, Mitch flung himself and landed on the floor of the van, effectively waking himself up.

Avi woke up the moment Scott moved and watched this whole interaction. He watched as Mitch fell, waking himself up.

He watched as he twisted around, his eyes turning a golden orange color, glaring at Scott and himself, and his hands erupting in flames.

"Mitch." Scott said. "Its us. Look at me." He said, trying to use his Charmspeak.

It wasn't working.

Mitch just growled. He was on his knees and his hands were on fire. He didn't recognize the four people staring at him. He felt unsafe. He put out the flames in his hand and scrambled out of the van, then making a bee-line in a random direction.

"Avi, catch him. You're the fastest." Kevin said.

With a growl, he listened and booked it. It didn't take him long to catch up but Mitch was fast enough that he was just out of reach.

With a grunt, Avi leaped forward and collided with the small boy, landing on the ground on top of him.

Mitch turned around and yelled in Avi's face.
