Scott tossed and turned. He was unable to get comfortable. His back was hurting, he was nauseous, and he was having hot flashes and it was talking all of his self control to keep his boxers on.
The dreams he'd been having weren't helping either. He'd dream about losing the baby, he'd dream about Mitch turning against him, he'd dream about the would ending because they didn't do what they were supposed to, which was stop Matt.
Mitch was awake in the corner, listening to the fabric rubbing and shifting as Scott moved. He watched as Scott threw the blanket off of him, effectively covering Kirstie, and looked at the wall.
Mitch watched as Scott brought a hand up and placed it on the little bump that had formed. It was just a little bump and was hardly noticeable, but Mitch has been keeping hyper aware recently.
Kirstie woke up the moment the blanket hit her in the face. "What the fuck?" She mumbled sleepily.
"Sorry." Scott said. "Got too hot."
Kirstie chuckled and shook her head. "Baby keeping you up?" She asked.
Scott teared up and sniffled as he nodded.
Kirstie turned and rubbed his shoulder, he still wasn't facing her.
"Its not just the baby, is it?" She asked softly, tugging his arm so he would turn over.
A tear fell down his face as he turned. "I'm scared, Kirstie." He said, holding his stomach.
"Sweetie, of what? We aren't gonna let anyone hurt you."
Scott sniffled. "That's not what I'm scared of, though. What I'm scared of is losing this baby." He took a breath and sniffled. "I don't know what I'm doing. Everything going on with everyone, and with all these monsters and creatures, and hit men coming after me, that's stressful enough, I just might lose this child."
Kirstie stopped him. "Stop that. Don't you remember the visions your mother showed you? Obviously you don't lose her, or else you never would've seen that little girl running around."
Scott sniffled. She was right. That did make sense. "But what about Mitch?"
She thought for a moment. "Wasn't he in the visions as well?"
Scott nodded.
"Then you have nothing to worry about. Clearly everything between you and Mitch works out. Who knows, maybe the two of you will even get married."
Mitch choked, effectively alerting the others that he was , in fact, awake and listening.
Dammit. He thought.
"Mornin'" He said, sitting up and stretching, Scott watching his muscles move as he did.
"Its four in the morning." Kirstie said.
Mitch shrugged.
Kirstie shook her head. "Eavesdrop much?"
Mitch rolled his eyes. "Can we not...with the tone? I just woke up." He said, sassily.
"Why not just go back to sleep?"
"Once I'm up, I'm up. Can't go back to sleep. Just get some coffee in me and we'll be golden." He said, getting up and looking at all the coffee stuff.
Kirstie narrowed her eyes at him. "You know something."
Mitch turned and looked at her. "Mmm, no. I don't." He said, dismissing the fact that he'd choked on his own spit at the word "married".
"Yes you do." She sat up.
"Its not important."
"Clearly it is. You literally choked on the word "married."" She looked at him pointedly. "So, you know something I don't."
"Bitch, all I did was choke on air. Have you never done that?" He asked her as his coffee was brewing.
"Uhuh." Kirstie said, eyeing him. "Well, since you two are awake, we're gonna sort this out. Mitch, sit." She instructed.
"Hay, hang on a second, my coffee isn't done." He pointed.
Kirstie glared and pointed to the edge of the bed. "Sit."
Mitch put up his hands. "Yes ma'am." He said sassily.
She pointed to both Scott and Mitch. "Stop hating each other. I don't care if you don't speak to each other, but stop hating each other. Scott doesn't need the stress. None of us do."
Mitch looked at Scott, who was looking down.
"I don't...hate you." Scott said. "I don't particularly like you, right now, but I don't hate you."
Mitch nodded and sniffled. "I'm sorry for what I did. I have no excuse so I'm not even gonna try. I'm sorry."
Kirstie nodded. "Good. Niw, y'all don't have to speak to each other, but that was good. Now, I can inform you both, that Avi will no longer be an issue for the both of you."
Scott looked at her with a confused expression. "Huh?"
She smiled. "I have that all under control."
"Just tell him Kirst. Hes gonna find out anyway." Mitch said.
Scott looked at him. "Tell me what?"
Mitch nodded to Kirstie. "Ask her."
Scott looked at her.
"Avi and I are in a relationship." She said proudly
"Wait what?" Mitch said.
She chuckled. "Mhmm. I've had a crush on his for as long as I could remember. I finally told him."
"That's all you did?" Mitch asked, making her blush.
"We might have also...uh...had sex against a tree." She turned and took off her shirt, showing them the Mark's.
"So that's why you're wearing a tshirt." He said, making the both of them giggle.
Scott looked at Mitch. Its had been what felt like years since he saw Mitch smile. He didn't want to be so mad, but he felt betrayed. Mitch found out Scott was pregnant and went off and had sex with Avi. He didn't know what to feel honestly.
"But yeah, anyway." Kirstie continued. "I've solved your Avi problem whilst solving my own. I'd say that's a win, so now, we either get up and get something to eat, or we go back to sleep."
"You two go back to sleep, especially Scott. I'll go get some food. I need better coffee anyway. That cup is up for grabs, but I swear if Scott drinks more than that cup, I'll kill him."
"Why?" Kirstie asked.
"Too much caffeine. Bad for baby. No more than two cups a day." He said, putting on his jacket
Kirstie laughed. "Alrighty then."
"What? I had to do something when we were driving for hours on end. I read a baby book."
Kirstie nodded. "Okay. Hey, get me a coffee?"
Mitch nodded. "Text me what you want." He said, and was out the door.
Kirstie turned to Scott. "You might dislike him, but that just proved how much he cares about you and that baby."
Scott remained silent. He was so confused now.
