Avi groggily made his way into the kitchen with a fussy Arryanna. She had woken up for her usual 2am feeding.

He didn't bother turning on the light. Having done this so many times, he could do it with his eyes closed. Arryanna was currently crying on his shoulder, asking for food the only way she knew how.

He hummed to her as he bounced. "You're okay, Fish. Give Daddy a minute and you'll be alllll good. Alright?"

She didn't like that. She was hungry now. She told him that by giving a more forceful cry.

"Oh, my god, it's the end of the world." He said dramatically as he opened the cabinet for the can of formula. He stopped when something seemed off. "Huh?" He said with a raised eyebrow. He couldn't quite tell what it was, but it just felt wrong.

"Hmm." He said, before resuming his task.

As the baby screamed on his shoulder, he put the power into the bottle and went over to the sink to fill it with luke-warm water. When he finished shaking the bottle up, he draped a rag over his unoccupied shoulder, adjusting the infant in his arms so he could feed her.

She opened her mouth right away and began drinking, almost greedily.

"My goodness." He chuckled with a smile. "You'd think we were starving you."

She didn't pay him any mind. The child was too busy enjoying her bottle.

With a soft sigh, he leaned against the counter and stared at the open cupboard, wondering what was off.

Kirstoe walked in to see this. "You good?" She asked as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes, referring to the confused expression he had.

"Have we gotten formula recently and I just didn't notice?" He looked at her.

Kirstoe pursed her lips, pondered, then shook her head. "Not that I know of. Why?" She tilted her head in curiosity and came and inspected. "What's your issue?"

He shook his head. "Its not getting any lower.  Like, there's more than there should be."

"What are you implying?"

"I-..." he didn't wanna sound like an dick. "I don't know how to word what I wanna ask without sounding like an outright asshole."

Kirstie nodded and crossed her arms, knowing he was about to say something that would irk her just a little.

"Go on."

He sighed. "Are they...feeding her?"

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Think about the question you just asked."

Avi cringed. "I know how it sounds."

"I'm sure there's an explanation, you insensitive prick."

"I told you I'd sound like an asshole! You told me to speak anyway."

She nodded with a smile and came over and caressed her daughter's face. "I'll talk to them tomorrow, if you'd like."

"Scott will take it the wrong way if I do, because I'll say it wrong. You know I'm not good at that sorta thing."

She gave a laugh. "Yes, I know. But you are good at being the number one daddy Arryanna could ask for." She leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

He smiled and looked at her.

"I'm the only daddy. For both my Guppy and my Bluefin."
