It had started raining.

Kirstie was curled up in her seat, passed out, from what Kevin could see.

But really, tears were streaming down her face. She was worried about Scott, she was worried about Mitch, she was worried about all of them.

Mitch went dark.

Scott was dying.

She was scared.

What didn't help was that it was almost two in the morning, so it was pitch black outside, giving the dead highway an eerie vibe.

That made her nervous.

She sat there with her hand pressed to her belly, thinking about her baby. She was going to be a mom. She hadn't thought that would've happened so soon.

She was 17 and a junior in high school that just so happens to be a demigod that is pregnant with a weird demigod-hybrid baby that was supposed to save the world.

Funsies.

She looked out the window until she heard the two in front talking.

"Where are you even going?" Avi asked.

"Jefferson. Didn't I tell you?" Kevin replied. There was a chance he might not have. Sometimes his brain went really fast and he'd think he did something, but he actually didn't.

Avi sighed. "Probably. I have no idea." He said, putting his elbow up on the arm rest and sliding down in his seat to get comfortable. "I just...I have a lot on my mind...right now." He confessed.

"What's up?"

Avi looked ahead at the road.

"Kirstie's pregnant." He said.

Kevin nodded. "Yes, I know that. I knew it before you did."

Avi looked at him.

"She started acting different, I mean."

"Yeah." Avi said. Then he sighed. "I just don't know."

"Don't know what?"

"Anything, apparently." He pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'm 17, Kev. I don't know how to be a dad! I never had one there to teach me. I mean, fuck!" He hit the dashboard and cringed when he remembered Kirstie was sleeping.

"You're worried." The older boy started.

"Really? Hadn't noticed." Avi said sarcastically.

Kevin rolled his eyes before taking a breath. "It's gonna be okay. We'll figure it out. Scott will be fine, Kirstie will be fine, you will be fine."

Avi just looked out the window. He didn't want to talk anymore.

Kirstie sniffled. She knew Avi's father wasnt around (which now they knew why), and it was hard on Avi.

Avi wasn't always a dick. That didn't start until high school.

Suddenly, there was something in the road and Kevin swerved to miss it.

When the car stopped, the only thing that could he heard was panting coming from Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi.

"What the fuck, Kevin?!" Avi yelled.

Kevin got out of the car and went to investigate, while Kirstie turned around and check on Scott, who was still unconscious.

Kevin looked around in the dark, trying to find what it was that caused him to swerve. He didn't actually know what it was, he just knew it was something.
