Chapter 53

Kevin groaned as he sat up.

"The hell was that?!" Avi said, standing up and looking around.

"Avi." Kevin said.

"Like, seriously, I would like to know."

"Avi!"

"What?!"

Kevin pointed. "Look." He said.

Avi turned and stopped.

He saw a tall man, with pale blond hair, and kinda looked like a hippie. He looked normal, but something about him said "powerful".

"Oh, what now?" Avi snapped.

"Chill out, dude. I'm friendly." The man said. Definitely a hippie.

Avi chuckled. "Yeah, heard that before. Who are you?"

"Avi, stop." Kevin said.

"What? Why?"

"I think I know who that is." He looked at the man.

"Well, don't rush to tell me."

"I think that's my father, Av."

Avi looked. He was only a few feet away when he stopped.

"Your father?" He looked at the man. "You're Apollo?"

Kevin smacked his arm. "Avi."

"What?" Avi hissed.

"Have a little respect." Avi rolled his eyes

Apollo chuckled. "Well. Nice to meet you...officially."

"Hi." Avi said shortly.

"Why are you here?" Kevin said, genuinely curious.

Before Apollo could respond, Avi cut in.

"Wait, I'm sorry." Avi said. "I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but how are you his father? Its just...he's...black, and you're, well...not."

"Avi!" Kevin shrieked.

"I'm sorry!!." Avi said, putting his hands up, afraid of getting hit. "I'm just asking, I'm really not trying to be rude."

Apollo just chuckled. "Don't worry about it. Us gods, are immortal and all powerful. We can manipulate our appearances at will. Sort of how you would change a shirt."

"Oh." Avi said. "Okay. Thank you." Then he walked off, uncomfortable.

Kevin turned to his father. "I'm sorry about him."

Apollo laughed. "Its all good. No harm done. Ares is the same way: blunt, usually speaks before he thinks."

Kevin nodded. "Anyway, theres a reason you're here, isn't there?"

Apollo nodded. "Aphrodite has been worried sick Scott's collapse. Actually had a full blown panic attack. Shes always been more in touch with her emotions. Especially recently."

"Okay, aaand...?" Kevin said, wanting him to keep going.

"There's a healer, a shapeshifter, in Jefferson. She can help Scott."

"Jefferson is three hours away! We have no way of getting there."

Apollo snapped and there was a white SUV in the parking lot.

"Now, you do." He smirked.

"But-...How did you...what?" Kevin stammered.

"All powerful god, remember?"

Kevin just looked at him, at a loss for words.

"You need to hurry. Avi was right when he said it had something to do with the hell Hound blood. It's not compatible with Scott's system. You need to keep him alive. Scott's and Kirstie's children are the key to all of this. We're gonna need both of them."

Kevin just nodded. "You said she was in Jefferson?"

"Yes." He looked up. "I have to go. Hurry." He said before he vanished.

Kevin stood there and looked at the now empty area, then at the car.

He was pretty sure it was new. Brand new.

He shook his head and walked back into the room.

When he opened the door, he saw Kirstie cuddled up to Scott and Avi was on his back with his ear buds in.

"We need to go." Kevin said, coming over and ripping out Avis earbuds.

"What do you mean?" Kirstie said while rubbing her stomach thoughtfully.

"There's a healer in Jefferson she can help us figure out what's wrong with Scott, and probably wake him up."

Both Kirstie and Avi just looked at him.

"I'll explain later, just...pack your things. I'll gets Scott's and anything of Mitch's."

"Kev, we dont have a way way to get there."

"Yes, we do."

Avi gave him a look.

"Just...pack you stuff, I'll explain later, like I said."

Avi just nodded, and went to pack, Kirstie doing the same. She didn't have the energy to question anything right now.

"You can explain now." Avi said from the front seat. Kirstie was curled up in the corner and Scott was laid in the back seat, bucked around his waist.

Kevin sighed. "So, I met my father." He said, kore to Kirstie, since Avi was there. "Hes the one that told me about the healer. She...also happens to be a shapeshifter."

Avi chuckled. "Of course she is."

"He also said that it is the Hell Hound blood. It's not compatible with Scott's system, and that's why hes like this. I think you were right, Avi, when you said the baby is protecting him, but she can't do it for long."

"What's gonna happen?"

"My guess: Scott could die."
