Chapter 46

"I'm pregnant."

Avi froze. "Uh...uh...I'm sorry, what?"

Kirstie sniffled and looked at the ground. "I'm...pregnant."

Avi chuckled. "No no no no. Scott is pregnant."

"Avi, I'm serious." She looked at him with tear filled eyes. She pulled out the test from her pocket and handed it to him.

He slowly grabbed it and looked at the two little lines in the window.

"But-but-but h-how?" He stammered.

"Are you forgetting that we slept together? More than once?" She asked.

"No, but-." He cut himself off. He didn't know how he felt. "I'm uh...I'm gonna go for a walk."

Kirstie sniffled and nodded. She looked up when she felt him cup her face.

"I'll be back, I just...I just need some air, okay?" He told her. The last thing she needed was to think he wasn't coming back.

She nodded again and looked back at the ground. She flinched when the door shut, though she didn't know why. He didn't even shut the door hard.

She heard the main door shut and she went over to the sink and splashed some cold water on her face, then dried it. She composed herself before opening the bathroom door.

She sat down next to krvin and pulled up her phone, making it look like she was busy.

"You okay?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah." She said, not looking away from her phone.

"Is...Avi?"

"Mhmm."

Kevin just nodded.

Something was definitely up.

Avi was sitting on the sidewalk.

He still had the test in his hand when he walked out. He couldn't stop staring at those two pink lines.

What was he gonna do? What about Kirstie?  They had enough to worry about.

He felt a chill down his back and quickly turned around, only to see nothing.

He turned back around to see a large man in front of him.

Avi jumped back and fell to the ground.

"I really wish you guys would stop with the jump scares." He griped as he got up and brushed himself off.

"My apologies." The man said. "Hello, Avi."

"Hi." Avi said shortly. "Who are you and what do you want?"

"I am Ares. God of War."

"Oh, lovely." Avi rolled his eyes. "Because this is exactly what I need right now."

"So, she told you?"

"You're the god. You tell me." He crossed his arms. "What are we gonna do?! We're 17!"

"And now you know exactly how Mitch feels."

"Mitch is the least of my worries." Avi growled.

"I would make him a priority."

"Are you serious?! I just found out that Kirstie is pregnant with my child, and you want me to put that on the back burner?! What's wrong with you?!"

"What's "wrong" with me is that something  big is coming, and you're gonna need everyone."

"Wait. What's coming?"
