Mitch practically insisted he and Neryssa take a nap. Demanded it, really. His body was tired and would love it if he weren't standing right now. He gave Scott a final kiss before turning and making his way upstairs.
Scott though, thought he needed a little something extra. So, he gave Mitch a nice smack, right on his asscheek.
Mitch yelped as he knees wobbled. He was still so sore from earlier. His eyes flared orange as he whipped around and glared at his fiance.
His eyes were wide, looking back at Mitch. Scott gave a 'I'm the mother of your child. Please, dont kill me' kind of smile.
Neryssa just giggled and gave her mother and father a big smile.
Mitch exhaled through his nose and turned on his heel, going up to their room with Neryssa in hand.
Avi walked in as he was trying to rock Arryanna to sleep. He wasn't aware of the demigod in the living room. He was too caught up in watching the baby's eyes slowly close.
Scott, still watching Mitch go up the stairs, didnt see Avi. He cleared his throat, which only startled the baby, making her cry. He put a fist to his mouth and cringed. Avi didn't look happy.
Instead of using his words, Avi came over and handed the baby off.
"You woke her up. You get to put her down." He said as the infant left his arms.
"Oh!" Scott said as he cradled her.
Arryanna screamed at him. Even as he rocked her, she just hollered.
"This is what I've been dealing with all night long." Avi crossed his arms.
He really did look tired. As Scott gave him a once over, he saw just how much.
Avi had dark circles around under his eyes, his hair was a tangled mess that had just been thrown up into a bun, and the look in his eye said he might start crying if things escalated too much.
"I'm sorry." Scott gave him a sincere look. He really didnt mean to wake her up.
Avi sighed as he rubbed his tired face. "Its alright. It's just been a long night."
"What about Kit?"
"She's been....kinda down. I mean, other than the whole 'you and Mitch getting engaged' thing."
"If you want, We can watch Arry. Give you and Kirstie some alone time."
It really looked like Avi was contemplating this option.
"It really wouldn't be a problem." The blond continued. "I mean, you did the same thing for us, really."
Avi chuckled at that and looked at his daughter. She was passed out against Scott, a small trail of drool going from the corner of her mouth, down onto Scott's arm.
"I've been struggling for hours. Hand her to you and shes out in two minutes." Avi shook his head.
"Its because she can sense how high strung you are. You're tired and a little grumpy and she doesnt like it." He gently swayed with the baby. "Her mother is an empath, after all."
Avi snorted. "She's definitely an angry crier, that's for damn sure."
Scott nodded in agreement.
It took a couple seconds for Avi to speak again.
"I'm sorry." He sighed, cupping his neck. "For what I said during our fight. I was out of line an-."
"Av." Scott interrupted. "Believe it or not, I was out of line. You actually helped shove me back into it."
