Thirty-Two

Mitch looked beyond pissed off as he walked in. Kevin just let it be, content with the fact that at least he came back. He watched as a few moments later, Avi walked in looking just as upset.

"How'd it go?" Kevin asked as they both sat down, away from each other.

"Fuck off." They both said in unison.

Mitch had to hide his smirk when he felt slight pain when he sat down.

"Where are Scott and Kirstie?" He asked.

"They went for a walk."

"Oh." Mitch just nodded. "Pregnant." He chuckled as he crossed his arms. "How does that even happen?" He asked.

Kevin raised an eyebrow. "You not expecting an answer to that, are you?"

Mitch rolled his eyes. "I'm not a fucking idiot, I know how it happens, but how does it happen with us? With Scott? Last time I checked, he had a dick." Mitch pointed out.

"Aphrodite said something about how her sons would have a different reproductive system, I guess. I don't know. This whole thing kinda just gives me a head ache."

Mitch chuckled.

"What happened to you?" Kevin asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you're so...rude. Like, you were kinda rude and snappy before, but now your just being mean."

For some reason, Kevin telling him this made him feel really small. He didn't have the confidence he did when he walked in the door.

Kevin watched as Mitch almost visibly shrunk back into himself.

"I'm sorry." Mitch said.

Only now did Kevin notice how his voice had changed as well as his hair. He couldn't describe it, but it was different.

"Its okay." Kevin said. "It just kinda threw us all for a loop."

Mitch nodded. He felt more normal now. He didn't want to knock over another lamp post, so that was a plus.

"I think I just need to sleep." Mitch said, feeling tired.

Kevin nodded. "We all do."

Mitch sniffled and curled into himself as the urge to cry kept getting stronger. The moment kevin said his name in a worried tone he broke down and sobbed.

"What am I gonna do?!" He said. "Im 16. I just made it through freshman year! And now I'm gonna have a kid?"

"Mitch, it'll work out. Are you not...I don't know, a little...happy?"

"Of course I'm happy, I just...don't know what to make of all of it. Scott's a guy. I'm a guy. We're both supposedly "powerful" demigods, so our child is supposed to be like, extremely amazing, and then on top of that whole mess of what we call "life", is Matt and his whole crew. I don't have time, nor the mental capacity to handle the added thought of me being a father before I've learned how to fucking drive." He threw himself back on the bed. "I don't really have time to be happy about it."

"Just give it some more time to sink in. Its only been like two hours. Scotts had this news for over a week and he's still struggling. He won't say it, but we can all see it. You and Scott probably need to talk. About a lot of things."

Mitch looked down. "Yeah." He said, closing his eyes. "But first, I sleep." He took off his jacket and kinked of his shoes, and curled up under the blanket and was fast asleep. Kevin was about to go back to his reading when Avi appeared in front of him and scared him.
