Lets see who my shadowhunters fans are.
If you can tell me which book this part is from, we'll talk prizes.
Its not the exact scene, but its loosely based on that part.
P.S. this chapter is mainly focused on Mitch. You'll see why.
"Okay, so where to next?" Scott asked from the driver seat. "And please lets not have another eleven hour drive."
"I second that." Kirstie said, sipping her coffee.
Avi was sitting against the wall of the van looking at the ceiling, and making a sound of agreement.
Mitch was curled up in a ball in the corner, passed out. Again, he's not a morning person, and his late night stroll/talk with Avi wasn't helping.
Kevin, having changed out his map for a phone, wondering why he hadn't done that way sooner, looked.
"We could do Kansas." He suggested.
"You mean cross a whole state?" Scott protested. "How long is that gonna take?"
"Ten hours and twenty-eight minutes." Kevin said quickly.
"What? Didn't I just say no eleven hour drives? We barely got any sleep last night. Some of us even less than the rest."
Avi shot a glare. Did everyone know he chased after Mitch?
"Fine fine." Kevin said. "I'll look for something closer."
"You better." Mitch said, waking back up from being so uncomfortable. "I already feel like dying."
"Okay," Kevin started. "What about Colorado Springs? Its seven hours." He looked at Scott.
Scott gave a curt nod. "That we can do. Kirst, Mitch. Y'all gonna be alright?"
Mitch groaned in frustration.
Kirstie nodded. "As long as we get at least two breaks." She smiled, earning a nod and a smile back from Scott.
~~~~~~
"Kirst." Scott said. "Wake Mitch up, will you? I just realized he didn't eat and we need to get some food in him." He pulled in front of what looked like a shabby mini mart.
Kirstie did so, earning small protests from the boy.
"Come on." She said.
"Why?" Mitch complained.
"Because food is an essential need for your body to survive."
"If I die, I die."
Kirstie rolled her eyes and made quick work of dragging him out of the van.
He yelled when he landed on the ground on his back, coughing.
"Fuck. Wh-what...was that...fo-or?" He gasped in pain. He didn't have his hoodie to give him any sort of cushioning, the little it would've given, he just had a thin shirt.
"You're awake now, aren't you?" She giggled, nudging him with her foot. She squatted down and put a hand under his arms to help lift him, listening to his back and shoulders pop. "Ha. And you gave Scott shit."
"Fuck you."
"Sorry hun, you're not my type." She smirked.
"Really? And what type to surfer stoner girls have?" Mitch glared and crossed his arms. He really wasn't interested in her, he was too gay for that, he just wanted to mess with her a bit.
