"So you think Amelia has 'disappeared' based on a stuffed bear you saw the ground?" Hange rose a curious chestnut brow, clearly skeptical.

The concerned man wordlessly nodded. He knew how strange this seemed. He may have overreacted or perhaps analyzed too deep; however, something just didn't feel right. He couldn't fathom Amelia running again, especially given recent events.

Levi, rather than present an argument lacking foundation, bluntly replied, "yes."

Levi hadn't particularly been in denial either; the situation was not the same. Amelia was happier now, regaining the effortlessly radiant beauty she'd lost. She seemed like the Amelia prior to Farlan and Isabel's death, as if she returned to the Amelia he first met in the underground.

"Then let's figure out where she's at." Hange agreed, not requiring much persuasion. They folded their arms on the wooden desk which separated them from Levi, "I'll gather the squad for you."

Levi desperately wanted to feel any form of relief at Hange's compliance. Yet he hadn't and, ultimately, wouldn't until Amelia returned, where she belonged.

Hange rose from their seat after the kind offer, their fingers gently adjusting the brown leather strap around their waist.

Levi narrowed his stone gaze, "unnecessary; I can handle this on my own."

"Levi," they sighed, "I understand you might prefer being alone given the circumstances - and there's absolutely nothing wrong if that's the case. You and Amelia went through hell together this last year and, with the possibility of something else happening, I cannot begin to imagine how you must be feeling. But you need to let me be the friend I chose. I love you bastards too much to let anyone else have you - even my precious titans."

He blinked, astonished. Involuntarily, Levi shook his head, his small frame sinking into the tethered emerald armchair.

"Give me a few minutes." Following their statement, Hange's steps dissipated down the stairs outside her office.

The worn cushion shook with his leg, his fingers tugging his already rumpled raven hair. Hange's words heavily weighed on his shoulders. In reality, they were right; the whole year honestly had been a shit show. He started it normally (at least, the first six months), putting on his regular pretentious façade, acting like he hated the person he actually loved most. Of course, as Amelia always did, she eventually tore him down. Although this took more time than usual; Amelia's millions of small glances and gestures, many which Levi never realized.
