That's what he said.

Not my name, or baby like he'd referred to me when he held me.

Corporal.

Why?

It was almost foreign on his tongue, calling me that.

He's hiding something from me; I know there was a spark between us, not merely leading the Special Operations Squad. I have that evening stored, after all- not to mention that I kissed him before I jumped off Wall Maria. There's definitely more to the story; besides, I'm aware of the things I ordered Jean to do earlier than when I went to the Colossal Titan, who threw me around like a fucking doll.

Ugh, this is all so annoying!

Through the duration of her internal deliberation, Levi was noticing simplistic, solid attributes of the world outside. Rain poured from the clumped clouds above, the droplets quickly coating the glass surface while rapidly descending down the pane, until they met the white stone of the structure.

It strangely almost made him laugh; the water the cascaded reminding him of much of his life, with a certain eccentric woman. He consistently found himself trying to keep up with her, ever since they were acquainted all those years ago. However, it wasn't the same now. Honestly, given the current predicament, it wouldn't be inaccurate or arrogant to categorize the roles as opposites. Amelia, ironically, was the one stuck to put nearly unsolvable pieces together.

The notion made Levi frown, his forehead creasing from the unconscious concentration he'd granted the pessimistic subject. For Amelia, as a person, was effortlessly radiant, elegant, selfless, impulsive, rambunctious, free- the list endless. But because of everything that happened, it wouldn't take a genius to unravel what she'd seen beyond the walls. The gruesome battle field of fallen comrades she awoke to, or the torment she physically and mentally had to endure. The crippling fear of titans surrounding her, practically prepared to strike at any moment.
