It's been a while since I did this one. But I saw that I haven't made a part 2 to it and I ran out of ideas so, yeah :)
"Are you serious? You sure he isn't messing with you, you know, being happy that you're back?" Tony asked, trying his best to keep his cool.
"When has he ever joked?" You replied, still looking at the hem of your shirt.
You couldn't look anyone in the eyes. Especially Bucky. You couldn't bare to see the pain and betrayal laced within those blue orbs, you already knew how he felt. You felt the same.
"Y/n," Steve spoke, your head slowly raising, "When do you leave?"
"Yeah!" Peter cut in, his eyes full of hope, "There has to be time before you go. It's not like he'll immediately send you tomorrow."
You dropped your head again. His words made you cringe.
"Wait......" Clint mumbled, the realization hitting him, "He is. Isn't he...?"
You nodded. Your throat closed up almost immediately, leaving you unable to talk. The fact that you have less than 24 hours to be with your friends against your will was enough to send you into a breakdown. That's when you felt it, his gaze on you. You didn't want too, but you did. You met his gaze with your own. His eyes started to water, pain written in his features as he dropped his gun. You looked back down and covered your mouth with your hand, quickly making your way to your room.
"Y/n!" Wanda called, trying to chase after you.
She was held back by Thor. They all watched you dissappear into your room, your door closed, and your pillow muffling your sobs. You loved your job, the only bad part about it was when these kinds of things happened. Over and over, no one had control of evil and no one had control over the made up mind of Nick Fury. You felt like only a minute has passed when a knock on your door came, but in reality, it was 2 hours. You didn't move. You kept your face buried in your pillow, your blanket kept over your head, and your light sobs continued to pull through.
"Y/n...."
You didn't want to see him. Not now, at least until you build up enough courage to even be in the same room as him.
"Love, open the door." Bucky mumbled, "Please. You know we have to talk about this. The mission."
You didn't respond. You didn't move. You only teared up and curled up in a ball, wishing he'd just go away. The door opened and he came through, closing it behind him before standing still. Your TV was on, drowning out the sound of your cries to a normal person, but to Bucky everything was heard. With a deep sigh, he walked over and sat on your bed, resting his hand on your leg.
"I'm sorry." You spoke first, trying to beat him to it so you prepared for the worst.
"Sorry for what, doll? It wasn't your fault, you had no control over it. Somethings happen and there's nothing we can do about it." He sighed, moving his hand to remove the blanket on your face.
When he did, you immediately hid in your hands. You couldn't look at him. He was a great liar, what if he was lying to you? What if his eyes truly showed nothing but betrayal? How would you be able to handle the guilt and leave the next day? He wrapped his fingers around your wrists, not tugging but enough to tell you what to do. You shook your head, determined not to meet his eyes.
"Babydoll," He whispered, you could feel him right infront of you, "Move your hands, sweetheart. Let me see your face."
"No, I can't. You hate me and I don't want to see your face!" You practically shouted.
He gave a small chuckle and put his face under your chin, his nose digging into your neck, softly planting kisses around your jaw.
"I'm not mad at you, baby." He cooed, "Just move your hands, yeah? We can talk and then spend the rest of the day together. How's that sound?"
You sniffled and slowly moved your hands, Bucky repositioned himself so he could see your face. Your puffy eyes, shaky bottom lip, and tear stained cheeks told him everything he needed to know. He planted a kiss on your chin and then your lips, stroking your cheek with his thumb. He was very different around you. He never showed that much affection around anyone, even in the Water fight he kept a still face. Letting a small smirk appear here and there.
"I don't want the rest of the day. I want more than that, months, years, the rest of my life." You muttered, wiping your eyes again.
"I know, doll." He gave a small smile, "But it won't happen this time. Just promise me one thing."
You looked up at him, tears forming again, "Promise what?"
"That you'll come back. Please." His face dropped.
He was no longer trying to cheer you up at the moment, he was being serious. You nodded furiously, tears falling from your face.
"I promise."

"You'll be fine, Y/n. It'll be over in no time." Tony reassured, bringing you in for a hug.
"Yeah. No time." You repeated, pulling away.
"Don't worry, Y/n." Nat stepped in.
"Yeah, you'll be fine. Then when you get back we can play video games again." Peter smiled, hugging you as well.
You chuckled and pulled away, "You'll always be my favorite gamer buddy."
"Yes!" He whisper cheered, walking away with a huge grin plastered on his face.
You slowly walked twoards the Jet, packing in your duffle bag before turning twords the doors. Bucky stood right there, hands in his pockets, and a pained expression on his face. You let your shoulders fall, your brows furrowed together as a pit formed in your stomach.
"So, it's already tomorrow." He nodded his head a bit, looking down at the floor, "You promised."
"And I intend to keep that promise." You said, trying your best not to have your voice crack.
"I'm gonna miss you, doll." He held back a sob, "A lot."
You gave a sad smile as you collided your body with his. Giving him a massive bear hug, he returned it. His arms wrapped around you tight, never wanting to let you go. His cheek rested on your forehead and his hands stayed put on you, hoping to god this wasn't happening, that it was a dream, a trick, a misunderstanding.
"Please don't leave." He whispered, his voice cracking.
You just hugged him tighter, "I promise I'll be back. It won't be longer, I swear. I'll do it and come back to you."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
You pulled away from him hesitantly, unwrapping yourself from his body as you took a step back into the Jet again. Bucky gave a smile, one to try and cover up his sadness, but you saw right through that. JARVIS started preparing for take off, the doors slowly closing as everyone started disappearing from your sight. Bucky was the last one you saw, you sat on the floor and wiped your tears from your face, giving him one last genuine smile.
"I promise."
