"Fine.""How can Zeke control and transform people into titans," Levi questioned you, "But, you can't?"
"Who says that I can't?"
"You had the chance to transform all of our soldiers into mindless titans when you first arrived, but, you didn't." The older man explained, "And, when Hange asked, Yelena told us that you weren't able to."
"I've never tried, to be completely honest with you."
"Why?"
You bit down harshly onto your lower lip, growing more with unease by the second; "I was forced by the Military to watch my parents, alongside their friends, be turned into Mindless Titans. I wouldn't wish that fate upon anyone," Your voice began to grow quieter, "I told my Superiors in Marley that I didn't possess the same power as Zeke, despite the fact that I possess Royal Blood - but, in truth, I never tried. I never wanted to find out if I could transform people into titans. Because, if I could, I knew that I would be forced by the Military to turn people regularly. I don't want to have that on my conscience."
Levi Ackerman parted his lips to speak, yet, no words slipped off from his tongue. He arched his thin, ebony brows together in thought.
"What is it?" You began to tease the older man whilst his face became paralysed in surprise, "Do I intrigue you, Captain?"
"Yes." Levi nodded his head firmly: you were admittedly taken aback by his honesty, "You do intrigue me - whether I like it, or not."
"Is that so?"
Levi Ackerman's expression had softened. The Soldier wasn't quite smiling, although, there was a gentleness to Levi's face that was unfamiliar to you.
"Did you expect me to deny it?" His deep voice purred, "I'm not a liar."
Levi became lost in thought for a moment, his glare narrowing down onto the hand you had wrapped just days prior. The wound had began to heal, however, there was still a redness on his knuckles. The rosy colour of his knuckles reminded him of how you had selflessly helped him.
"How have you been sleeping since I last asked you?" He asked you, his gaze still locked onto his knuckles.
"The answer is the same: barely."
"I see." Levi's voice lowered.
His eyes were misty: thoughtful. You pondered what was lurking in his mind whilst his eyes glared downwards.
Intrigued, you bit, "Why are you asking?"
"You said that you haven't had chance to practice because the training room is always packed with soldiers, right?" Levi's charcoal-grey eyes flickered onto yours, then continued before you had chance to answer his question: "Which has left you struggling to keep up with them during expeditions."
"That's true, yes."
"I'm not finished, don't interrupt me." He pinched his brows together with a strained expression, shaking his head: "I have an idea."
Levi Ackerman rested his sharp jawline against his knuckles: he exhaled through his nose, thoughtfully configuring the proposition he was about to make to you. He wasn't quite sure if his idea was ridiculous, or brilliant, but decided that it was a good way to simultaneously keep an eye on you as well as train you to his high-standards.
