His Surprise

The next morning you got out of bed as usual, cleaning yourself up and dressing in your usual clothes before heading down to the Mess Hall.

You picked up some food, sitting yourself on a table with Hange, Onyankopon, Zeke and Yelena.

You'd made up with Zeke during the past week.

You didn't want to: but you knew that it was for the best - he apologised for saying the things he did, as well as being part of the cause of your panic attack, and you apologised for slapping him.

You sat beside Yelena as she raised her hand as a 'good morning', before you began to eat as the table discussed strategies and plans.

Your eyes scanned the room for your Captain, wondering where he was.

'I wonder if this has anything to do with what happened last night?' You asked yourself, 'He seemed like he was in a rush.'

"Since the last battle, approximately a sixth of our soldiers perished," You heard Hange begin to explain the fight that had brought you to Paradis in the first place, "Most of whom were from the Titans, mainly centring around the Cart Titan. Our machinery is mostly out dated compared to theirs, with only the exception of our ODM gear."

You nodded, "Marley's engineers is funded heavily by the Military, I would know." You began as everyone's eyes averted to yours, "Although, with myself and Zeke gone now, not only as titans but also as General's, Marley is at a weak spot right now. They won't attack for a while, at least."

Onyankopon nudged you with a worried expression, "But there's a possibility that they will attack us back?"

"Of course there is." You shrugged, "Knowing my colleagues, they're already planning their advances towards us. They know of our destination, and Reiner Braun can name the majority of our weaknesses. As soon as their army is stable again, they'll attack us almost immediately."

Zeke gave you a nod, agreeing with what you were saying.
"I can't say for sure how long we should give them on that," He swallowed his food, clasping both hands together, "If I were to give you a range.. five months to a year before they're back on track."

"Mhm. Although we can't say for sure without knowing the whole damage that we caused to their buildings and how many lives were lost."

"Agreed. They need not only soldiers, but workers in the towns." Yelena calmly added, "We're at a secure point right now."

You rested your chin against the knuckles of your hand, too tired to concentrate fully on such a conversation.

You sighed, your eyes looking around the room for some sort of distraction, until you felt your eyes suddenly strain as Levi stared at you from the doorway.

He raised his hand to signal that he knew you'd seen him, before he raised his index finger, gesturing for you to go and talk to him.

You swallowed, turning back to the table, "Sorry guys, I've gotta go." You began, hooking your legs around the bench you were sat on, "I'll see you all later."

"Bye." Hange smiled weakly, tilting their glasses up to the crook of their nose as you quickly walked out of the Mess Hall, your Captain waiting just outside for you to go and speak with him.

The heavy double-doors creaked open, your body slipping outside as Levi stood against the wall.
"Y/N." Levi Ackerman nodded calmly, "Took you long enough to notice me."

You leaned against the wall opposite him, "You could've just came over and asked to talk to me, y'know."

He scrunched his nose with disgust towards your suggestion, "What? So The Monkey Titan gets suspicious of us and decides to interrogate me?"
