The Next Morning

Your eyes slowly fluttered open, a yawn leaving your parted lips as you began to wake up.

You could feel Levi's warm body still wrapped around yours, one of his arms still hooked around your head to pull your face close to his neck and chest, whilst the other just tightly held onto your waist.

Levi looked more at peace when he was sleeping.

His face was constantly relaxed, his hair messy and out of his face and his lips parted constantly. He looked almost happy when he was sleeping.. you wish he looked that way more often.

You closed your eyes for a little longer, holding on be to his body a little tighter to savour the moments you had together. He was breathing calmly and the redness in his face had faded.

You let out a long sigh, able to hear the subtle beats of his heart through the grey jumper that he'd worn last night.

It was unusual for Levi to wake up after you due to his insomnia, however, you blamed it on the situation last night.

Despite the 'situation', sleeping in Levi's arms felt so much easier than sleeping alone - that was probably the best you'd slept in ages.

You heard him grumble under his breath, his nose scrunching as he spoke quietly in his sleep.
"No.." He whispered hoarsely in his sleep as you carefully pulled away from his embrace, "It's not safe there.. don't go.." He mumbled to himself before you traced your fingers against his forehead, frowning sympathetically until he stopped whispering.

You quickly changed into your regular clothes as he carried on sleeping in your bed, before you leaned over him, carefully placing the blanket over him once again incase he got cold, before deciding to set off to make tea.

The morning was still early, there were barely any Scouts outside in the Mess Hall.
You quickly wandered over to the boiling kettles, making yourself and Levi a tea as the heavy rain poured against the windows outside.

The day was gloomy, but you didn't mind it.

You carefully brewed his tea just how he liked it, not wanting to slip up.

Your eyes latched onto your younger brother from the distance, your arm waving softly towards him.

He didn't wave back, just watched as you jogged over to him, beginning to pour some boiling water into two cups.
"Hey, Eren," You gave your younger brother a smile, "What're you doing up this early?"

He shrugged, "I couldn't sleep last night, I figured I'd get here before anyone else so yay I could have first dibs on coffee." He explained to you, taking a long sip as you stirred the tea bags into the water to brew them, "What about you?"

He glanced down at the teas - he didn't even need to guess who the other drink was for.

"Levi." He simply said his name as a shiver down down your spine; "You're making him a cup of tea?"

You nodded, "Well, yeah, I figured I'd be nice and make him something to wake up to." You left out the part that mentioned he'd slept in your bed.

"Why?" His voice sounded somehow more bitter than usual.

Your eyes pricked up, looking at him with a confused expression, "What do you mean why?"

"I mean why."

You felt unsure on how to answer his question, "I just felt nice, that's all. It's not a big deal. He usually makes one for me, too."

His emerald-green eyes averted from yours, landing on the cold weather outside of the barracks. He brushed his finger tips through his hair, adjusting the low bun against his neck.
