You'd been at the barracks now for almost seven months - you couldn't believe how quickly time was going past you..it felt like only yesterday you were still dripping sweat from the Marley invasion, forced onto the floor by people who were now your friends as they all glared down at you.
You'd met some of your new favourite people.
You'd developed feelings for someone.
You even met your own brother, Eren, who (despite his flaws) your relationship was still progressing with.
You held onto your knees, nostalgia filling your insides as you watched the sun slowly set, the oranges melting into the different pinks, purples and yellows.
The stars were beginning to fade into the perfect sky as the lights from each city within the walls began to glow under the sun.
You smiled calmly, tilting your head with against your legs as your body felt surprisingly warm for the time of year.
The ends of your long skirt blew in the wind, the shirt around your torso keeping you warm as you watched different people walk through the streets from miles away, wondering who they all were and what they were doing.
You lowered your head, your feet dangling in the air as your body sat on the edge of the rooftop.
You heard footsteps behind you as a warning as your head flinched back, your eyes widening as Levi stared at you with a raised eyebrow.
"What're you doing up here on your own?" He asked you in a blank tone, yourself turning back to focus on the view, "It's getting late, do you want me to walk you to your ro-"You interrupted his offer, shaking your head.
"No, I'm gonna stay out here for a little longer.." You gestured towards the setting sun as his stiff expression loosened, "The sun is setting, it looks pretty.."Levi tilted his head, "Yeah, it does look pretty, doesn't it?" He agreed as you smiled weakly, turning back towards the orange and pink hues as he scratched the back of his head, "Can I.. join you?"
You shuffled over a few inches, gesturing for him to sit beside you.
He swallowed, taking a few steps forward before hooking his legs over the side, sitting so closely beside you that his legs were pressed to yours.
You smiled warmly and gently, watching the sky slowly set behind him as the different, vibrant colours reflected off of his soft, black hair.
He suddenly turned his head to face you, "It's strange, isn't it?"
You tilted your head, "Whats strange?"
His lips parted, his eyes shifting to the side, "How far we've come."
"What do you mean?"
He scoffed, shaking his head as a few strands of black hair swept behind his ears, "Can you remember the first time we ever spoke? When you boarded our ship?"
Your lips curled into a reluctant and confused smile, "Yeah, I suppose so.."
He carried on talking, his silver eyes half closed, "And you were wearing your uniform, and when I began speaking you looked up at me like you wanted to kill me?"
"I didn't want to kill you.."
"Believe me, you did.." Levi smiled weakly, shaking his head, "But it's fine, because now look at us." It was like he was unable to wipe the beam from his face as he spoke to you, "We've had our ups and downs, but when it comes to it.. I really, really care about you, Y/N.." He paused, clicking his tongue, "I'd go as far to say that you're one of my favourite people.. and I would hope that you'd maybe feel the same about me."
