Picture Day

Picture day.

Your feet were tapping up and down on the wooden floor, boredly waiting with Zeke and Eren stood tiredly at either side of you, all of you forced into order of surnames.

Most people had already gotten theres done and the day was turning into a late evening, now leaving the three of you and around ten other people you'd never met.

Levi had already had his taken I.D photo: you'd walked there with him as he complained the whole way, whining about how 'pointless' and 'what a waste of important money' the pictures were to be taken.

Although, you already knew that the only reason Levi was complaining about how 'pointless' was just because he didn't want to have his photo taken, refusing to smile whilst it was being taken even when both you and Hange had tried to make him laugh.

The photos were needed for multiple things: newspaper reports, personal ID, memoirs..

You'd grown bored of having your photo taken over the years, but for the soldiers of Paradis it was an entirely different thing.

Camera's and other such advanced technology were new there, and most people couldn't afford to even glance at one, so a photo taken of them was one of the most exciting things that had happened to everyone in a while.

The lights flashed as Zeke at last took a photo for his Scouting ID, a 'pump' noise loud in all of your ears with the old-fashioned cameras flashed against his face.

Eren went next.

And then after it was finally you.

You awkwardly sat down against the leather seat, hearing him begin to take the photo as your smile began to ache from waiting for so long.

You looked over the camera, watching that same silhouette you'd grown happy to see begin to get closer into view, a taller silhouette by their side as they pushed the shorter closer to your view.

"Okay.. three, two, one-!"
You smiled on cue, the bright flash hurting your eyes as the camera man smiled, tilting his dark, brown cap to gesture that the photo had been taken.

You quickly hopped off of the seat, jogging over to Levi and Hange as they leaned against the wall on the other side of the room.

"Hey," You warmly smiled at them, your eyes still dazed from the bright light, "What're you two doing back here? You've already had your photos taken."

Hange shrugged casually, "I had to come back to make sure everything was going smoothly." They gestured to Levi as he coldly looked at them, "And Levi just begged me that he could tag along."

"I did not beg." Levi snapped under his breath, too tired to properly argue back with them, "You just started speeding down the corridor and I was curious as to where you were going. If I had known it was back here I wouldn't have bothered.."

You shrugged, "Then leave, I guess," You suggested, "No ones forcing you to stay.." You felt your lips curl into a smirk, leaning over to get eye-to-eye with him as his frown grew more prominent, "Unless if you plan on modelling a few more photos for u-"

"Hell no." He quickly answered answered with a disgusted look on his face as you giggled, covering your mouth with the palm of your hand.

"It was worth a try.." Hange shrugged, still giggling to themself at his offended expression.

"Y/N!" You heard your older brothers voice call towards you as you looked at him over your shoulder, watching as he practically dragged Eren back to the chair stand beside it, "C'mon, I wanna take our first family photo." He yelled with a dry smile as you walked back over, "It's for the papers."
