Your eyes shot open.

Your lips curled into a tired frown, your body consumed by darkness as you weakly looked around, your body still beside Hange's with your fingers inbetween theirs, just like how you had both fallen asleep.

You rubbed your eyes, trying to get back to sleep.

You couldn't.. your body was awake and alert.

You groaned, rubbing your e/c eyes as you sat up from their soft pillow. You kicked your feet off of their bed, slipping on a pair of boots before quietly leaving the room, deciding to go and get some fresh air on the roof top to calm your mind.

Your boots made thuds on the wooden floor, your eyes glancing at the clock to find that it was already 4.00 a.m.

You opened the door to the rooftop: a large flat surface at the top of the barracks. You'd gone there before to clear your mind - it was always peaceful and quite, and the view was like nothing you'd ever seen.

You shivered at the cold breeze, turning your body, but became shocked by a silhouette sat in your usual seat.

You slowly walked over, standing behind him as you quickly realised who it was.

Onyankopon sighed, feeling your presence behind him, "The views pretty, isn't it?" He began, your body reluctantly sitting beside him as your feet dangled over the edge of the wall, "The sky is so clear tonight."

You didn't respond, just following his gaze up at the sky above you both, different stars sparkling above you both.

He smiled weakly to himself, "The views were never this beautiful back in Marley, were they?" He thought out loud as you listened, shuffling closer to him, "Maybe it was the pollution there.. but here, it's extraordinary at this time of night. Cold, but extraordinary.

"My.. father used to star gaze with me when I was younger." You looked up at him as he looked down at you, his calm face nodding, "He'd tell me about all the different horoscopes and what each star meant and I'd listen to every word of it.."

"Were you close with him?"

"To be honest, I can't remember that many things about my relationship with him," You shrugged, "Just the little things, I suppose.. Although, I do wish I could've met him for longer. I guess I'm slightly jealous of my brothers," You laughed quietly and weakly, "Zeke got to know him for eight years, Eren got to know him for ten; I can barely even remember his face and I was too young to appreciate having parents."

"That's.. very unfair for you. I'm sorry you had to go through that."

"Life's unfair." You scoffed, a small smile on the crook of your lips, "But at least I know that I was his favourite."

Onyankopon laughed gently, nudging you in the arm.
"Anyway.." He shook his head, his smile slowly fading, "I.. should've asked this sooner but, are you okay?"

You swallowed.

He began speaking again, "Hange briefly explained what the doctor told them, but I'd just like to know how you are feeling."

Your face eased, a weak smile on your lips as you struggled with what to say, "I.. honestly don't know." You attempted to explain as you felt his hand place on top of yours reassuringly, "I suppose it's just been more difficult lately."

"Whats been more difficult lately?"

"Everything." You laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of your head, "It's difficult trying to talk to people, my paperwork is somehow multiplying on its own, too many people rely on me, and I'm scared that one day I'll disappoint them all."
