Upon seeing you, Hange immediately took your arm in theirs with a courteous smile. Hange kindly complimented your appearances, beginning to lead you throw the shadows of the night in the darkened barracks.

"You didn't tell me that Levi would be joining us." You smiled, secreting your anger so that you would not draw suspicion and have to explain what had occurred between you both.

"I'm sorry," The Commander had a look of confusion against their face, tilting their head towards you, "I thought that you would have assumed he's coming, that's all. I didn't even think to mention it."

"I see," You nervously narrowed your gaze onto your shoes, "Where is he now?"

"He was complaining that we were taking too long to get ready, so, he decided to get an early-start and leave." Hange softly laughed at their friends brute demeanour, finding a peculiar humour in his consistent coldness; "Levi and Rico will be waiting for us there."

"Who is Rico?"

"She's apart of the Garrison Regiment, and, one of my old-acquaintances." Hange casually continued: "Come to think of it, she has quite a lot in common with Levi. They both enjoy cleaning; they have similar personalities, too. You will adore her, don't worry."

Sharply exhaling, you forced a bitter grin: "Of course."

The Main Town was decadent in an array of bright, summer flowers. Hazy, orange light blossomed from tall street-lamps and gleamed onto you whilst you both ventured through a town within the walls of Paradis. The buildings were old-fashioned and charming. A street band played smooth music from afar: many people watched them play and danced slowly to their somber instruments.

This was your first night out of the Barracks, and, as much as you hated to admit it, Paradis had a particular charm to it that you adored.

A faint beam urged against your lips.

Your attention was swiftly caught as Hange Zoë exclaimed that they could see their friends in the distance. Cheerfully, they extended their arm in glee and called for them to join you both. You followed their gaze and was met with the sight of Levi and an unfamiliar woman standing beside him.

Your anxiety grew at the sight of the pair.

The woman, who's name was apparently Rico, was unbelievably beautiful.

Her silky, silver hair cascaded above her shoulders. Her pale skin was devoid of any flaws and shon beneath the street-lights. Her large eyes had fragments of silver and blue - they looked just like the ocean. Her figure was enviable. Her short physique a few inches below Levi. Her perfect lips formed a slight pout whilst her gaze analysed you.

You pressed your lips tightly together; you hated Levi, but, admittedly hated seeing him beside another woman even more. Especially a woman so beautiful; especially a woman he apparently had so much in common with. Your emotions were uneasy.

Despite previously enjoying the beautiful city-life, you suddenly wanted nothing more than to go back to the Barracks. You regretted agreeing to attend: you wanted to leave.

Hange excitedly introduced you both to each other.

Rico, still procuring a natural snarl, muttered: "I'm charmed."

You extended your hand to shake hers, wanting to make a good impression on the woman: "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rico. Your dress is so pretty."

Glaring towards her left, she weakly shook your head: "Thanks."
