You finally pulled away from him, your eyes now dry yet still reflecting a light crimson.
You folded your arms over your chest, "But-.." You paused, your eyes squinting, "They-.. Mmph."Levi lowered his head with shame, leaning back against his desk, "I know: they're aware that we're together. There's no way to spin the truth on that now," He paused once again, running his fingers through his hair, "I.. didn't mean to let it slip. I was just caught off guard when Onyankopon said that he knew what was going on between us."
You shook your head, "It's fine: honestly. I'm sure they know not to spread it."
His slender brows pinched together, "There were a few Scouts watching."
"Well, we can say that it's just talk: gossip, that's it." You offered him a smile, placing your hand against his cheek as he leaned into your touch. His eyes slowly closed, tracing his hand against yours.
He sighed slowly.
You traced your fingertips along his temple and through the ends of his raven hair, watching his eyes slowly open to stare at you quietly.
"You're only saying that so that I don't feel bad." He murmured."Well," You felt the tips of your lips curl into a genuine smile, "Is it working?"
He eased into a smile back, "Yeah: just a little."
"I'm glad." You kissed him gently on the lips, "I'll go talk to Hange."
"Are you sure?"
You nodded, beginning to turn your back, "Yeah, I'll come find you again later."
You anxiously stood outside of the Commander's office, your fingertips shaking with nervousness as you heard them move inside. You inhaled a sharp breath; you knocked loudly before you had chance to think twice.
"Come in!" A warm voice instantly called back as you closed your eyes tightly shut, "The doors open!"
You pressed your hand to the edge of the door, your fingers slowly trickling down the soft wood. Your fingertips traced the edge of the door handle, twisting it open.
Their office smelt of coffee and metal, with a freshness from the warm wind outside.
They turned their body; their eyes immediately widened at the sight of you.
"Ah..!" They gasped under their breath, dusting off their shirt, "Y/N."
You offered them a smile, closing the door behind you, "Hey, Hange. You got a minute?"
Their expression slowly eased, "Of course: I'm free for a while today. What do you need to talk about?" They paused for a few moments, their face easing from innocent and light-hearted into something more sinister and daring, "Hm, nevermind: I suppose that was a stupid question, right?"
You pressed your lips tightly together, "Mmph."
Their head tilted, "How's Levi?"
"He's fine."
"That's all the information I'm getting?"
