(A/N: Here it is! The 3k reads, 3k words Oneshot Special! I was finally able to break out of my writer's block and finished it! I'll be honest, I really thought I might not be able to do this one because it just wasn't landing in my head and I went through a ton of ideas and each of them was scrapped but I finally came up with this and I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I wrote this with she/her in mind for Y/N but I also did my best so it can be read as gender neutral. I hope you lovelies like it! Enjoy!!)

Y/N = Your name

Y/L/N = Your last name

italics = emphasis

 'dialogue' = thoughts

(Y/N POV, Y/N's House)

       "GOOOOOD MORNING, Minnesota! This is Joe King coming to you live from 92.5 KQRS!"

       I shot up, waking from a dead sleep as my alarm clock turned itself on. My heart was beating so fast from that rude awakening that I actually had to take a moment to get my breathing under control. I look over at the offending object with a scowl. I must have forgotten to turn the volume down last night before going to bed. 'Nothing like someone yelling in your ear to really get you moving.' I thought sarcastically, falling back down face first into my pillows.

       "Today is Thursday and the current time is 6:30AM and that means it's time to get up for school and/or work! Let's wipe the sleep from our eyes and start the day off easy with some slower tunes. Here's 'Thirteen' by Big Star. Comin' at ya!"

       Normally I would have flipped the machine off and gone back to sleep but they were actually playing my favorite song. And as my brain finally started to join the rest of me in the waking world, I remembered that I was actually excited to get to school today. I quickly threw off my blankets and grabbed my towel, heading straight for the bathroom down the hall. After getting the water just right, I got in the shower and turned on the shower radio to continue listening.

       The reason I was so excited to get to school, you see, was I couldn't wait to see my secret admirer. I know what you're thinking. Secret admirer?! I was honestly just as surprised as you but this had been going on for almost a whole week. It seems that as I go through my class schedule everyday, an admirer has been leaving behind my favorite things on my desk. It had all started with a note saying that I had a secret admirer and they wanted to ask me to the upcoming Valentine's day dance this Friday but were too shy to ask me outright. Thus began a guessing game of who exactly this person is and how they know me so well. It was actually really exciting!

       I quietly sang along with the radio as I finished shampooing my hair. I was eager to get to school because I was meeting up with my friends for breakfast in the cafeteria. I met the Ducks when they came to Eden Hall a year ago. I was a freshman myself and had classes with a few of them. They all invited me to sit with them at lunch and we all became really good friends in no time. That is, aside from Fulton Reed. Not to say that we're not friends but I don't know; there's just this sort of wall between us that I don't know how to get through it. He's a regular at the music store I work at but we don't really talk much when he's there. He's not mean or anything but he doesn't really have more than two words to say whenever I'm around for some reason. I wasn't gonna let that bother me today though. I was too excited!
