(A/N: Hi lovelies! I'm so sorry for being away for so long! Real life has to come first though. I'm just glad I could get this written down while I can. So without further ado, here's the 18k Oneshot Special!)

"I'm sorry, hon, but it looks like we'll have to cut it out."

I heard the hairstylist say but it sounds like I'm under water. I'm too busy trying to keep my tears at bay.

*Earlier that day*

It was lunch time and I was sitting with my boyfriend, Luis, and our friends. The room was abuzz with chatter from various tables. We were laughing at something that Goldberg said when I felt something hit me in the back of the neck. As I lifted my hand to see what hit me, I heard a raucous laugher coming from the Varsity hockey table. Then I felt it. All color drains from my face.

       Gum.

       In my long, luscious locks.

I pull my hand away, fingers sticky from the sweet caught in my hair, and feel my stomach all but fall out from inside me.

My hair.' Is all that runs through my mind. Over and over.

Connie's the first to realize that something's wrong.

"Y/N? Are you okay?" She asked. I barely hear her.

       'My hair.'

The others are silent now as Luis whispers the same question to me. My hand flies to the back of my head again.

"My hair." This time I say out loud. What happened next seemed to happen in slow motion. Luis takes one look at the back of my head and then is up and out of his seat, rushing towards the Varsity table, half the Ducks behind him.

There's a scuffle and fists thrown but Julie and Connie are quick to pull me away and to the bathroom. For the rest of lunch time, they try to extract the offending substance from my locks but to no avail.

*Present time*

By the time I realize what's happened, my long hair that used to down to my waistline is barely touching my shoulders. Tears streamed down my cheeks. The stylist and others at the salon try to comfort me but it's not reaching me. All I can think is how robbed I feel or what I could have done to prevent this.

'If I'd only worn my hair up today...if only I'd sat on the other side of the table...if I'd only-'

My thoughts are interrupted by the jingle of the bell above the salon door. Glancing out of the corner of my eye, I spy a familiar hockey jersey. Luis.

'Oh no! What's he doing here?' I think as I look in the mirror again. My hands grasp lightly at my now short hair and one thought fills my mind. 'Oh, god. What'll Luis think?'

You see, Luis loved my long hair. He loved playing with it, running his fingers through it. It was one of the first things he noticed about me! 'What's he going to think when he sees me now?' I can't help but think.

After the stylist takes the cape off of me, I slowly walk to the front of the salon. There stands Luis with wide eyes, one blackened from the earlier fight.

       "Y/N..." he starts.

"I know." I say, more tears falling down my cheeks. I lower my head.

       "You look..."

       "I know."

       "...beautiful."

My head snaps up at his last word.

       "Really?" I hear myself ask.

A big smile spreads across Luis's face and a small one across my own. He comes towards me and immediately reaches for my hair, playing with it.

"Really! I mean, you look beautiful no matter what you do but this cut really suits you, mi corazon." He says.

A small laugh bubbles from my lips as Luis wipes away a stray tear from my cheek. I throw my arms around Luis as his secure themselves around my waist. My stylist and a few other coo at us but we pay them no mind. A quick kiss nearly has them screaming with glee.

(A/N: Not my best but I like it! I got the idea while I was eating a bubble gum flavored jelly bean. I'm still trying to calm my schedule down to get back to doing preferences but hopefully I can get a few more oneshots done. That's all for now! Thanks!!)
