Markus paced his room and rolled his shoulders to free them of the tension. There was a knot forming in his stomach, making him anxious.

"Akri, what's wrong? Are you feeling alright?"

Markus's paused and his head swivelled around to look at Calia.

She was sitting on the small settee, her eyes glued to him. "You have been pacing for a while now."

Markus's fingers itched at the feeling coursing through his body. He breathed deeply, trying to steady himself, as he stared at her.

Without a word, he pulled out his phone and dialed Mitchell's number.

It rang four times before going straight to voicemail.

"Thy're taking longer than expected." Markus could feel himself succumbing to his darker nature.

"Markus, what's going on?" Kev's concerned voice floated towards him.

Markus heard Kev's question but he couldn't answer. It was impossible.

A shadow of gloom descended upon him. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.

"I don't know. Something is happening to him."

Kev rushed over to him. "Markus, I need you to breathe."

Markus closed his eyes at the familiar burn. He was trying to stop himself from hurting anyone. "I need to find Mitchell."

"Did you try calling his phone?"

"He's not answering my calls."

Markus's eyes flew open, the irises now a deep red. His gaze shifted from kev's face to Calia, then back to Kev.

Without a word, he stepped into the foyer. He had taken a step towards the door when Mitchell and Chris walked through the door.

Mitchell's steps halted before his eyes went directly to him.

As Mitchell stared at him, he could feel the darkness inside him disappear.

"Markus, why are your eyes red?"

Markus quickly covered the ground between them and embraced Mitchell tightly in his arms. He didn't care about anything at that moment. His face dipped against Mitchell's neck and he took a deep breath at his smell.

He could literally hear the calling of his blood, making grow hard.

But he didn't want to drag him upstairs without knowing why he took so long to get home. Markus pulled away to look down at him.

"What happened?" His eyes lifted to peer at Chris. "What took you so long?"

"After leaving the house, we realized that someone was following us."

A coldness had taken root at the thought of someone trying to hurt them. "Did you get a good look at this person?"

Mitchell must have heard something in his voice because his gaze went to his face. "We're fine, Markus."

Markus's gaze roamed over his body from head to toe, looking for any signs of discomfort. "Tell me everything."

"It took a while but we managed to evade this person. I think whoever was following us Pine Crest well enough." Chris responded.

Mitchell raised one of his hand and placed it against his neck, rubbing soothing circles on his skin.

Little pinpoints of electricity raced through Markus's when he felt Mitchell's powers. He closed his eyes, enjoying the sensation of Mitchell's fingers working their magic.

"It's okay, just breathe."

As the burning dissipate, Markus slowly opened his eyes and fixed his gaze on Mitchell.

"Holy shit! I can't believe it actually worked."

Markus's gaze lifted to look at the others gathered in the foyer.

Calia was watching them with wide eyes but she was smiling.

Mitchell twisted in his arms to look at them. "What worked?"

"I mean we all saw it two nights ago but it's still unbelievable. You're like his catalyst."

"I think it works both ways."

As Mitchell opened his mouth to speak, the doorbell rang. All heads turned to look at the door but Markus already knew it was waiting on the other side of the door.

He strode forward and swung the door open.

"You didn't need to rush over here."

"Are you freaking kidding me? I could feel your emotional turmoil practically suffocating me." Charlie stepped into the house.

"Why are you here?" Mitchell asked, not bothering to hide his displeasure.

"It's always a pleasure seeing you too Mitchell. I'm actually here for your boyfriend."

Mitchell stepped between them. "I don't want you near him."

"You don't have to worry. I'm here to help."

Markus's mouth twitched at the possessiveness in Mitchell's voice.

His captured Mitchell's waist and pulled him close, kissing him ardently. Mitchell instantly responded, his arms rising to wrap around his body.

Markus found himself utterly absorbed in the kiss, the outside world forgotten. His body reacted instinctivelyy at the surge of heat.

"Uhm... guys." Someone cleared their throat. "We're still here."

"Get a room."

Markus pulled away and a sound of disappointment escaped Mitchell's lips. He flipped his lower lip with the pad of his index finger. "We will continue this later."

When Mitchell's eyes open, they were filled with desire. He leaned forward, putting his lips near his ear. "I want you to fuck me hard."

Markus choked back a moan. "I'm going to punish you for that."
