Today was step one towards the European Championships this summer. Gareth was naming a 44 man squad that he would select team out of for the upcoming March internationals and the June friendlies, prior to naming 26 into his squad for the summer. All they boys had featured for England in the past 12 months and were gunning for a spot.
Jake had gone round to Marcus's with Dean, so they could all find out together.
"Surely we are in this list." Marcus announced as he came in with a round of tea. "Like we've all made most the 23 man squads over the past 12 months so unless one of us has shat on southgate's suit, I'm sure we'll be in."
"Always a little bit nerve wracking though isn't it? Even when you think you are in." Jake replied, refreshing his emails.
"Yeah my tummy has gone all funny." Dean said, nervously.
"OOH, it's in. Just refreshed and it's there." Jake shouted over Dean.
"We all opening at the same time?" Marcus said in a mocking tone.
