These kind of words struck Cody from these three cherubs, or former-cherubs now. "wait, you guys know my parents? are they up there? you know, heaven? Please tell me they're ok."
"Cody, don't listen to them." Loona gently urged him. "They don't know anything."
"But, they're angels. I just want to know-"
"Look, we don't know for sure." said Cletus. Thanks to those IMP demons, we got banished from entering Heaven again. It was probably before your parents pushed up daisies."
Cody frowned and looked down. "Oh. I see."
"Look, why would you hang out with these loathsome beasts, sweetie?" asked Keenie. "She is a demon. Demons are nothing but evil, foul monsters that people dread on."
"Demons are nothing but scummy vermin and lowlifes."
Loona growled, taking offense to that, and said: "believe me when I say: I saved Cody because I didn't want him to die."
"A child like him belongs to heaven to be happy with God for all eternity." said Collin. "The lake of fire is no place for him to spend the afterlife."
"Please stop fighting." Cody urged them. He looked at the cherubs again and asked: "can you guys show me my parents?"
Loona couldn't help but give him a sympathetic look, knowing that the boy still missed his deceased parents. Ultimately, Cletus was the one to answer his plea, and he answered to him plainly: "unfortunately, no. Besides, our purpose as Cherubs is to save people from dying."
Cody frowned and looked down. "OK."
"But we can try to get you to heaven." Collin admitted. "Perhaps if we can try to reach out to the lord himself, you can see your parents."
A sudden look of hope appeared on Cody's face. "Come on, you can't fall for this crud, Cody. They're fallen angels now."
"No thanks to you!" said Cletus, pointing his baby finger at Loona. "No you kidnapped a poor child here to suffer in hell?"
"No, no, I'm not suffering." Cody admitted. "Loona is very nice to me. She gave me a place to stay and she's a demon. She felt sorry for me after my parents died in a fire, and helped me."
"A demon feeling sorry for a human?" said Keenie in disbelief. "Likely story."
"Since when does a demon care about a human being?" asked Collin
"I care!" Loona growled. "God, what has he been telling you? All good demons are dead demons?"
"Actually, yes." said Cletus. "Before we got banished, our lord said to trust no demons at all."
"There is more to us than meets the eye, you pious dips- i mean morons." Loona stated. "Besides, you guys aren't so perfect either."
"But we're angels. We're supposed to he purified." said Keenie.
"Piss!" Loona exclaimed. "the guy didn't want to live anymore and you tried to get him to live again."
"Well suicide is a sin!" said Collin. "What kind of an example would we be if we let a man die like that!?"
"Newsflash, shrimp." said Loona. "You can't save everyone."
"Ok, ok!" Cody said. "Please just stop fighting. Look, I'm hungry, I need to eat breakfast. Maybe some breakfast would clear my head. And... look," he pulled out what appeared to be a Hostess cupcake from his pocket. "Any of you guys want this? I mean, it's the least I can do."
"Oh, don't give them anything." Loona said. "Cody, you can't buy all what they're saying."
"I'm not." Cody admitted. "I'm just trying to he nice at least."
