Preparing For a Big Trial

Today was the day of the trial of Stolas himself. Cody had to get up a little earlier than usual, and look nicely for the hearing of the Goetia prince. If Stolas loses the trial then he could face very bad and serious consequences for killing his own wife to save a human boy. It was a good thing that Blitzo gave the kid a nice, formal kind of suit from Stolas to wear. These pompous people are not really fond of... the "poor" kind of people, and they behave like first-class assholes most of the time, and look down on everyone below them that is not a Goetia. Cody himself was a little nervous, and hoped that any of the demons would just try to hurt or eat him.

But, it was a good thing Loona and the others would be with him to help him out... and Stolas too. The human kid put on the formal suit, and felt uncomfortable as the suit he was wearing felt a little stiff and constricting. Yes, this was going to be different than Judge Judy on Earth, and it will be more tense than that kind of trial. Loona didn't really care, because... she's Loona of course, and decided not to wear anything formal. All she cared about was making sure Cody was safe.

"Are you ok?" she asked the kid.

"Just a little nervous." Cody replied flatly. "Can this tie be any more tight?"

"I know, but the Goetias like to keep it 'professional' and hold up to their names." Loona rolled her eyes.

"Oh, that's easy for you to say!" said Moxxie. "Look at you! You are your usual, bitchy self without a care down here in Hell."

"Moxxie, i'm in no mood." Loona narrowed her eyes at the imp.

"You should talk?" said Moxxie. "I can't make fun of you, but it's ok for you to make fun of me?" he then glared at her.

"Well, yeah, because you're a loser."

The male imp just got mad at her and offended

"He is not a loser!" Millie defended him. "Watch your mouth before I slice your pussy in all places and make you bleed in the worst way possible!" Loona got mad at her response, and felt like clawing Millie in half. Never has Loona had that kind of response said to her before. No one talks to her like that, and people like that will probably get turned into meaty remains until nothing remained of them at all.

"How fucking dare you say that to my baby!" Blitzo said

"Shut the fuck up, Blitzo!" back to Millie, Loona said while shouting: "What the fuck did you just say to me you hillbilly cu-"

"Shut up!" said Vortex intervening. "Need I remind you that there is a KID IN HERE?!" Everyone looked at Cody, and realized that they were frightening him a little with all of this bickering. The other four demons sighed in remorse.

"Sorry, Cody," the four said.

"It's ok." the kid said. "I'm more worried about what will happen when we get there." As soon as everyone was cleaned up, they hit the van and went over to the grand courthouse of Hell, where Stolas and Octavia were waiting for them.

"Loony, I told you to wear something formal for this." Blitzo said.

"I wear what I want, when I want." Loona said. "I don't care what these haughty people think of me. They are the worst of the worst."

"SHH! I wouldn't say that to them if I were you." said Stolas. "One wrong word, and they might obliterate you."

"Ok, ok." Loona sang. They all went inside the palace and the other Goetia family members had many kinds of animal looks on them. For instance, there was one that looked like a heron, and another looked like an eagle, and another looked like an egret.

As these pompous upper demons looked at the group, Cody's heart was pounding like a tribal drum. He stood close to Loona and he heard murmuring.

"Is that a human?" Said one Goetia.

"A human down here in hell?" Another one pointed.

"And I thought they were supposed to come here when they died." A third one added.

The corridors were large and wide in the hallways and some of the other Goetias looked at Stolas as well, looking at him with disdained look on their faces.

"Ah, glad you can all make it." Said a familiar voice. It was Andralphus himself. He looked at Stolas with hatred. "You will pay for what you have done. But, alas, that is up to your father."

"But he passed it on to me, you imbecile." Stolas retorted.

"Even after retirement, he still has power, my little dumb-fuck." Abdrealphus remarked. "And the patriarch of the family after all. I'll see you on the pedestal pleading for mercy with tears."

"That will be the day."

Andrealphus looked at the company. "Glad you can make it, Cody." He said to the child.

"Merci, I guess."

"De rien, mon garçon." The peacock demon bowed formally. "But remember, I am not persecuting you, just my murderous brother-in-law."

"He is not a murderer!" Said Blitzo. "I have half a mind to melt you into-" he felt his mouth being clamped shut by Loona.

"Shut the fuck up, Blitzo." Moxxie whispered.

Next, Andrealphus looked at Loona. "Hmm, so you are in your same old garments, my dear?"

"What would you like to know?"

"Just curious. Rather typical for a poor, hapless peasant like yourself to not wear anything nice."

Loona didn't say anything else but growled at the marquis.

"Well if you would all excuse me, I need to be in the room to persecute the guilty." Then the peacock demon walked away in some kind of grace.

"He is such an asshole." Octavia mumbled. "But... he is my uncle."

They all went inside the large courtroom and there was Paimon, the patriarch of the Goetia family, and Stolas' callous father, on the judges' pedestal. "Now, Cody, don't worry about me. And... try not to speak so much unless spoken to." He turned to his daughter next. "And Via, daddy will be ok."

"Dad-"

"Trust me, Via."

The princess just sighed and hoped her father will be acquitted for this.

Cody, Loona, and their friends sat in the witness box while Stolas took defendant pedestal.

Paimon raised his hand with the gavel in grip and pounded it on the counter three times. "Court is now in session."

Just like that, everyone was silent, and Cody hated this kind of silence.

"Stolas Goetia, my own son, you have been accused of murdering your own wife, Stella." Paimon spoke some more. "Do you swear to tell me the truth?"

"Yes, father." Stolas flatly said.

"And do you swear to take full responsibility if proven guilty of all charges?"

"Yes."

"Good. Andrealphus said you have killed Stella in cold blood."

"Look, I did... I did kill Stella." Stolas said. "But not out of pure malice."

"A little hard to believe, son." Said Paimon. "You never wanted to marry her."

"Admittedly, yes, but only because she was crazy and her heart was made out of pure stone. But that wasn't the reason."

"Well then what was?"

"To protect Cody. My human friend from Earth."

Every Goetia demon looked at Cody, and Paimon with his red gaze with his own face.

"I'm in trouble." said Cody
