Boy that Mr. Belmond, he was a pure self-righteous douchebag but Cody and the others brushed it off because if sounds like everyone in town doesn't like this guy (maybe except for Mormons and nuns). It was no surprise that Belmond had little to no friends or followers at all, unless it was a church congregation.
All that mattered was that Stolas' name was cleared. Now everyone's' lives can go back to normal as it should be.
Playing video games, Cody was having fun and won second place in Call of Duty. "Yeah! We won!" Cody congratulated himself. Loona went up to the couch and sat next to him. "You feeling ok, Cody?"
"Yeah, I'm on, Loona." Said the boy in reply. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"The way you fainted in the courtroom like that."
"I promise, I'm fine." Cody reassured her. "It was a little scary, but it went smoothly."
"Yeah it did." Loona smirked
"So do you think we'll see Andrealphus again?"
"For our sake, I hope not."
"He's very creepy."
"Yeah, but many demons down here are creepy so, it shouldn't be surprising."
"True. And that was a little scary, but that was nowhere near as me being kidnapped by Verosika, or that crazy family,"
"Oh come on." Said Loona, "don't sweat it."
"My dad did say everything happens for a reason."
"He's probably right there." Loona agreed.
"Did my parents dying happen for a reason?"
The female hellhound then frowned at him. "I honestly don't know. I mean, that was an accident obviously. But at least Jesus is taking care of them in heaven." she wrapped her arm around the kids' shoulder for some comfort and support. "So, speaking of which, i have good news." Cody looked at her to know what it was. She smiled in a big grin, and added: "I'm going to take you in today.
Cody's eyes widened and he asked: "You mean, you're going to officially adopt me now?"
Loona nodded to him. "Uh-huh." she said. "Just need to sign some papers to make it official, and we'll be all set."
The boy gasped with excitement. At last, he was going to be under the full guardianship of Loona, and while it took a little while; it was so worth the wait for him. After all, he was one of the very first friends Loona made in her life. And she did love him like he was her own little brother that she never had before in her life. "That's good. So where do we sign?"
"Well, we'll hit at Stolas' place to do the paperwork. But, you're a kid so you don't have to do that obviously. Because kids shouldn't have to do all that paperwork."
"Yeah, i mean, it's boring." said Cody. "How can people even do all of that stuff without falling asleep?"
"No idea, honestly." the female hellhound admitted. "I'm surprised many people haven't fallen asleep from doing boring paperwork like that. Conformity, that's what it is. Just as bad as school."
"well, school's ok." said Cody, "but it's waking up in the morning that annoys many people."
"True that. Many people are not morning people, and I am one of them." She chuckled as she remembered one of the times she was woken up from her beauty naps as work (even if she wasn't supposed to sleep on the job). Moxxie was the one waking her up, and... she was flailing his small body around with her mouth as if he was her own chew toy. Poor, unlucky Moxxie was as unlucky as always. "But Moxxie was tended to by Millie."
