Cody was happy to have gotten an A plus from his report on the Fox and the Hound. Although he promised himself he never would read it again for as long as he lived to prevent any more trauma. Miss Stacey even gave him an honor roll award for that. It was a good thing Bruce had been lobotomized, otherwise, he would be extremely jealous, and would give Cody a hard time because he one-uped him because oft his amazing report. Of course; looking at how much of a zombie or a vegetable Bruce was just made Cody a little uncomfortable. This kind of treatment looked rather... wrong to him. Sure Bruce was a a fucking jackass to Cody, but this kind of treatment was... unjustifiable to receive as a punishment.

Maybe him being scared for life by Loona's true form in that abandoned house was probably the furthest extent of his retribution.

"Bah, come on, Bruce is mean. He deserved to have that happen to him. He won't pick on anybody, so go figure." Cody said in his head. "so i'm glad that piece of shit got what he deserved. It's not like he had a sad life before he got that... whatever that surgery is called again." as soon as the final bell rang, Cody was happy to get out of school once again. There he saw Loona in her human disguise, and Tommy with Celeste, and... some of his new demon friends in human disguises? This was unexpected. Tex was there and he was a strong, muscular man that looked stronger than the average human male. Crystal and Serena were there as well in human disguises. Unlike Loona who can magically transform into a human, Blitzo Moxxie, and Millie had poor-looking disguises that were just laughable and silly. For instance, Blitzo had Groucho glasses on his face while wearing a brown business suit. "Oh, what are you guys doing here?"

"Duh, to come with you to see your parents'... you know." said Moxxie.

Cody frowned and looked uncertain. "thanks guys." he said. "I don't know if I'm ready to see their graves. You know, mom and dad's graves."

"Come on, Cody." Tommy knelt in front of him to help him get some confidence. "You can do this. I know you can."

While still looking sad and not sure about seeing the headstones of his deceased parents, the kid sighed and said: "OK. But I don't know if the guys here would be..."

"I was like that at first. I didn't really want the guys besides us to be here but-"

"I really wanted to be with you to see your parents to make sure you'll be alright." said Loona

"And normally, this isn't easy for me to say but... we're your friends." Blitzo added. "Octavia and Stolas wanted to be here but they were too busy with... royal stuff."

"That's ok." said Cody. "I wouldn't be surprised if they were too busy anyway." he made a smirk. "I don't know if i can look at them, but i'll try.

"But how are you going to fool anyone with those piss-poor disguises?" Celeste asked the imps. "I mean, only a herd of knuckle-draggers would be stupid enough to fall fpr those."

"We've worn disguises many times before, ma cherie." said Blitzo. "You'd be surprised how stupid and retarted many people are in this world."

"True." said Tommy. "Come on."

They will walked to the cemetery with Loona holding Cody's hand to give him some support and make him feel more comfortable.

At last, when they reached the cemetery, it took a little while but they managed to find the very graves of Daniel and Abby Laurent. Yes, the headstones looked new because of how nice ajd polished they looked.

Cody's heart stopped for a few seconds and he still couldn't believe they were both gone. The woman who gave birth to him, and the man who loved him as much, now gone.

Tommy was the first to lay flowers on both of their tombs, with one rose flower gently placed on the ground in front of them.

"Here Cody, your turn." said his big brother, giving him a rose. "Careful, roses have thorns."

"OK, Tommy."

the kid slowly laid his rose flower on his father's grave and them when Tommy gave him the second one, he played it on his mother's side.

At first it was silent and everyone bowed their heads in silence to respect the deceased parents. After a minute, Tommy stepped up to the graves and said: "I know you guys were the best parents any kid can ever ask for. And I hope that wherever you are, I hope you have found peace in heaven with Christ and God himself. What matters is that... you're not in pain anymore and I'll see you guys in the other side. Goodbye mom. Goodbye dad. I love you... and thank you for all that you have done for me and Cody."

At last, Cody couldn't hold back his tears and let many of them escape his eyes from sadness. Tommy slowly backed away and looked at Cody. "Hey, look at me, buddy. it's alright. Is there anything you would like to say to mom and dad?"

The kid didn't say anything at first, but he ultimately said: "Yeah, i think i got something." He took a breath and slowly walked up to the two headstones and knelt on his knees, and closed his eyes. "Mom... dad... he began talking with tears streaming. "I love you guys very much and I miss you so much. I hope Jesus is taking care of you and, I hope you are in a better place. I'm sorry you guys had to die and... and... I can't do this anymore." he got on his feet and walked away.

Everyone took pity on him and Tommy tried to run towards him, but Loona was faster and caught up to him first. "Cody?" she said.

"I'm sorry. I still can't believe they're gone." Cody whimpered."

"Come here." Loona hugged him to make him feel better and then the rest comforted him. It was almost like he was in a new family already. Plus, he remembered Loona said she would adopt him one of these days, so he realized he shouldn't despair so much anyway. He took a breath and blew his nose with a tissue.

"I know i can't keep crying anymore." Cody sighed. "I just need to move on with my life."

"Right." said Celeste. "Tres bon." she gently patted his shoulder and gave the kid a tender kiss on the forehead. "Just remember all ze good memories you had with your parents."

"Yeah. I know."

"Look, why don't we go out for dinner or something?" asked Tommy. One of my friends works in an Ivorian restaurant that serves yummy West African cuisine.

"Ooh, sounds good to me." said Crystal

"Love trying new foods." Serena added.

"I'm all up for that." said Vortex. They all followed Tommy to the place and it looked amazing. African drums on the walls and paintings of the Congo rainforest were in some parts of area also.

Sole masks and peculiar Headwear for dancing or rituals were next to the booths, and the food did taste good in this kind of place.

All of them took seats in two booths and when they ordered their food, it was out of this world. so delicious and delectable and yummy. The drinks they all had were jus de bissap, or an African hibiscus juice to enjoy.
