Happy Day

Another day had passed and it was good for Cody to be back at school. Everything was normal in on Earth and Cody got ready for another school day and got his back pack ready. When he got inside the school, he was surprised to see some kids with happy smiles on their faces. But... something was very off. Yes, their smiles looked rather uncomfortable, weird, and a little... creepy with their eyes bulged up and have smiles almost as wide as the Joker. They did blink, but the smiles were still creepy.

Not all of the kids in their had creepy smiles of course, as there were still many that looked normal and not weird. These smiles made Cody think they were infected with Joker Gas (non-lethal Joker Gas of course). While still a young boy, even Cody can see that something was wrong. He was approached by one of his female friends, Amy.

"Hi Amy." said Cody. "Do you get the feeling that there's something weird going on today?"

"That's what I was about to talk to you about, Cody." said the girl. "Some kids and even a few teachers are acting weird somehow. Like... like they're not themselves. And-" she was cut short when Tyler, one of Cody's best friends walked up to both kids. "Just having a nice talk with Cody," Amy tried to sound innocent like nothing had happened.

"Hello Cody." said Tyler with his creepy smile. "Is it a happy day today?"

"Uhhh, yes. Any reason why you're happy?" Cody asked his best friend.

"Yes." said Tyler. "I have watched the most awesome TV yesterday."

"What's it called?"

"The Three Little Angels. It's on channel 666. And you gotta watch it. It will make me so happy." then, with that creepy smile still on his face, he walked away in a casual manner. Just seeing him walk with that creepy smile was just uneasy. Both Cody and Amy looked at one another, not sure of what was going on. When they went to class, Cody saw about five or six other kids having the same creepy smile as Tyler had before.

Despite the uneasiness, Miss Stacey began teaching anyway and while talking about math, Cody looked at some of the smiling kids and they did not even flinch or frown in the slightest since a lot of kids hate math with a fucking passion. Yes, it's not like kids to smile like this during a math lesson. Did their parents raise them well? Was there something exciting going to happen in class? No, if there was, Cody would have been told about it beforehand.

Today was a really school day, and this was the second day back after the whole shooting affair. He didn't know what was more weird, the kids acting all happy with no emotions, or their crazy smiles on that face that they didn't let go. Loona noticed the uneasy look on Cody's face. She frowned and asked, "you ok?"

"Yeah, i'm fine. At school... some of the other kids had creepy smiles on their face like very creepy smiles, and one of my friends suggested I watch a show called the Three little Angels."

"Ugh. That sounds like something for babies." Loona shrugged off as she looked on her phone. "And creepy smiles? That's weird. They didn't get angry or stressed about anything?"

"Nope. And get this, some of my friends in my class had those smiles throughout the class, and when they look at me, they wave at me sometimes. It reminds me of those twin girls from the Shining, but they are smiling."

Loona had a look of "WTF" on her face, and that sounded like something alright. "Creepy smiles, huh? Did they pester you?"

"Well, a couple of other of my friends suggested I watch that show, and they had creepy smiles too. It's like they're not human anymore."

The female hellhound looked a little uneasy as well. It did sound inhuman to not have any other emotions but happiness and bliss. Are they zombies? Have they been turned into mindless, soulless beings?

Not only that, but the name "Three Little Angels" gave Loona a sense of deja vu. "Why do I get the feeling like I know who is in charge of that show?" She thought she had the answer to this, but then it slipped her mind in an instant. "I don't know." she said to Cody.

Then he got a call from Tyler. "Hello?"

"Hi Cody, are you watching the Three Little Angels?"

"No. I don't feel like watching it tonight, Tyler."

"Ok, maybe you can watch it tomorrow. Or the next day, or the next day, or the next day, or the next day, or the next-" Cody hung up his phone and was weirded out.

"What did he say?"

"He is trying to convince me to watch that show. Something doesn't feel right, Loona."

"Well, I wouldn't worry about it so much. But if things continue to get weird tomorrow, let me know."

"Sure."

The next morning on another school day, things got even more strange than usual. More people were looking unusually happy and having creepy smiles on their faces.

Cody was startled by someone standing next to him. It was Amy, but she had a creepy smile on her face too. "Good morning Cody."

"Uhhh, hey Amy." The human looked uncomfortable. "Are you feeling OK?"

"Never better." Amy said. "I am so happy today." She got her face closer to Cody and asked "are you happy?"

"Yes. I'm glad to catch up on my school work."

"Well you should watch the Three Little Angels." Amy said. "It would make me the happiest girl in the world."

"Maybe I'll do that after school." Cody said.

"Delightful!" said Amy. The bell rang and Cody got to class, and this time, unlike yesterday, all the other kids in the classroom (except for Cody himself) look happy with those uneasy smiles.

Miss Stacey seemed normal today but those smiles on his friends didn't disappear at all. Yes, something was going awry in the neighborhood.
