*Aeron's POV*

"You talked to Captain Ripley, right?" Bohannon asked.

"No, he's still in surgery." I said.

"And Natalie?"

I cleared my throat, seeing the truck Natalie and Desmond were in, the windows fogging up but I could still hear the sounds of her pleasure. "Managing," I said.

I turned my back and walked back down the sidewalk, waiting for her to return. "Good, don't let her out of your sight."

"Understood." I went inside and waited from the window to see her walk out of the truck a few minutes later, the reception really hit it on the nose, from an angle Desmond did look like Elvis.

I saw that Natalie looked flushed, a few buttons quickly done up in haste. As soon as she looked up, she rushed to me, "Aeron!" She breathed, I pulled her in, her perfume hitting me. It felt like comfort. I was happy to see her happy even in tragedy. "How'd you know I was here?"

"You have me on that location app, remember?" a convenient lie and a half-truth, "I saw you on tv."

"What?" She gasped, "I was on tv?"

I nodded, "KSFR got you on the news, holding Ripley's hand."

She let out a breath, "Oh wow, this all feels a little too real."

"Just... one more thing." I pulled out a bag, "I'm going to need his helmet."

Natalie turned to me, a look of shock on her face, "It's an FBI case?"

I nodded, "Someone else is handling it, but they wanted me to collect evidence, since well, they know I know you."

I had to lie. I hated lying. Especially since I knew she was going to find out the truth. She always did, no matter what happened. She placed the helmet in the plastic bag I extended to her, and pulled her jacket closer.

"I'm going to get an update," she pushed the elevator door, "Coming up with me?"

I shook my head, "Nah, you and Desmond go up and I'll be up in a minute I have to take a call."

Desmond put his arm on her, "You go up, I'll be there in a minute, I just have to talk to Aeron a second."

Natalie nodded and walked in the door, both of us smiling until the doors closed.

"I know you're lying to her," Desmond said.

I looked at him, "Even if I had information, which I don't have a whole lot right now, I am not at liberty to say anything. Go be with Natalie, take care of her for me."

Desmond rolled his eyes at me and walked away, and I sighed, not this again.
