The day after Wren left my house, I felt the heavy twinge of guilt when I saw Logan.
Alex was dropping some things off at his house, and then we were on our way to dinner.
"You can come with us, if you want," I heard Alex's voice, muffled in the driveway as he walked away from Logan.
I looked at Logan, giving a small wave, and maybe even a smile.
"Sure, let me get my jacket."

The drive felt awkward with Logan in the back seat, and I kept stealing glances at him in the rear view mirror. Occasionally he would catch me, and I looked at my phone. A few texts from Wren, a picture of a guitar we had talked about during his visit that morning, and a few artists' photos, and a song from his playlist. I'd followed it, giving a small chuckle when it said, 'Wren's Hot Mix' and called him a dork.
Alex started talking to Logan, and I plugged in my headphones, listening to the song he'd sent over. "Bells" by The Unlikely Candidates, it felt powerful and riveting. It drew me in immediately, and I knew I had to call him.
"Nat, you called."
"Wait, we've got nicknames for each other now?" I laughed, "I don't usually let people give me nicknames..."
"I'm special, and you know it. Jokes aside, how would you like to sing lead with me? Canyon's in too, so it will be incredible."
"I'm game, this is unlike anything I've ever done before. Please tell me, we're going to have an actual bell."
"Oh, of course, we have to!" He chuckled, "Do you think... I could come over to your house after I'm done with work? It'll be a twenty minute drive and then I'll be there, around say, 7:00?"
"We could order pizza?" I suggested.
"Pizza sounds great, so it's a date."
I stammered through my reply, and hung up as quickly as I'd dialed. I tried to disguise my excitement, and Alex smiled at me.
"Someone's in a good mood, was that Wren?"
I nodded, "He's coming over tonight."
"Oh, look at my sister the singer. You're going to dazzle them all."
I smiled, "I'll try."
I looked back out the window, looking at the rear view mirror. Logan was looking at me, a small smile at the corner of his mouth. When he caught me looking at him he turned away, and as we parked he got out quickly. He opened the door for me, saying nothing as we walked up to the restaurant.

*Logan's POV*
-Four Hours Earlier-
I'd woken up with a headache, managing to stumble into the shower in the dark, leaving my phone on the charger. I heard Whitney yell, 'Your phone is ringing!' and I yelled back, "Answer it!"
When I finished, I walked back in to see her sitting up and getting dressed. I smiled, giving her a kiss on the lips and pulling on some clothes before I asked, "Hey, who was on the phone?"
"Jewelry store, they said your order is ready."
I silently cursed myself, "Oh, thanks," and pulled the rest of my clothes on before getting into the car.
